Kids. They're the best and there's never a dull moment.

Our younger home companions possess no filter, and little perspective on life, but rather than serving as negatives, these factors only make them more endearing.

Spring anything on them and you're guaranteed to get an honest assessment of that which they've been presented. Often unpredictable, but always forthright.

We've seen this in a series of recent comedy videos in which kids respond to the Game Boy and other archaic devices such as rotary phones or the Walkman.

Which is what ... a music player?! Seriously?!

Thanks to YouTube and social media, we've also seen countless, classic clips of kids receiving a puppy, or learning about a sibling, a trip to Disneyland and so on.

Take a look at some of these gems below, and you'll never feel more ancient ... and glad that you have children. Or at least that they exist, because LOL:

We're Going to Disneyland?!?
What happens when parents tell their daughter the family is going to Disneyland? An awesomely adorable reaction.

The cover art for Nicki Minaj's new single has already overshadowed the song itself in a major way.

In fact, "Anaconda" may go on to become Nicki's biggest hit, simply by virtue of the fact that people can't stop staring at the promotional photo.

In case you haven't seen it, the shot features Nicki with her back to the camera, her famous backside ruthlessly devouring an innocent g-string.

The photo is pretty amazing on its own, but since we're fortunate enough to live in the Internet age, some intrepid Photoshop aficionados have taken up the task of improving upon it:

The Original
The booty that launched a thousand memes.

There's Nicki as the Google logo, Nicki as Spider-Man, Nicki covered up for Drake's sake...it's all good and it all makes us grateful for the Internet, as well as for Nicki's thong-busting butt.

The Rock as Hercules

There's just enough plot to keep the movie lurching forward, and there are plenty of battle scenes to delight connoisseurs of carnage. - Stephen Farber

As Kendra Wilkinson struggles with her husband Hank Baskett's alleged affair, the stress is starting to take a physical as well as emotional toll.

Even her daughter is starting to feel the impact of the scandal.

Hank Baskett and Kendra Wilkinson Pic

"It's affecting her milk production and, quite simply, breaking her heart," a friend of the new mom, who welcomed daughter Alijah with Hank in May, says.

Wilkinson has been spotted without her wedding ring and "cries every day," says the friend, but she is holding off on any major life decisions for now.

Fortunately for the former Girls Next Door star, she has good friends like Jessica Hall, and unwavering support from her former boyfriend Hugh Hefner, 88.

The source close to Wilkinson says Hef has reached out:

"She said Hef has offered to help in any way he can but has been urging her to try and work it out, as he knows how hard divorce can be on the kids.

Former Teen Mom star Amber Portwood is out of prison and off the air, but she's still got a lot of her story to tell, and is doing it with an explosive new book.

Amber's tell all Never Too Late opens up about her rise to fame and fall from grace, her stint in an Indiana prison and her life since her release.

Amber Portwood Book Cover

The book will be released August 26, and Portwood told Radar she chose a selfie for the cover because it was symbolic of all she'd been through:

“I wanted to incorporate a selfie onto the Never Too Late book cover because I thought it was symbolic of the journey I had to take when writing the book.”

“In writing this book I had to step back and really take a look at my actions and life both before and after my jail time,” the 24-year-old added.

Also, “the selfie has become so mainstream that everyone can relate to it and my story and journey is one that a lot of people can relate to."

Amber Portwood, Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell and Farrah Abraham were the original four stars of Teen Mom. All have had their issues since.

No one can quite top Amber's problems with domestic violence, drugs, rehab, and hard core state prison while starring on the hit MTV show, however.

Morgan Freeman is back on Helium.

A few months after first sucking down this gas and talking all silly in an ad for Through the Wormhole, Freeman stopped by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Thursday.

"I really shouldn't be doing this," Freeman joked. "It's very undignified!"

And if you think Freeman on Helium sounds weird, just wait until you hear about the 77-year old star's new hobby.

He just started beekeeping.

Tila Tequila has posted another baby bump photos of herself at 24 weeks pregnant. Meaning we have about 16 more until the apocalypse is nigh.

Sixteen more weeks, that is. And probably baby bump photos with massive cleavage, because when you're Tila, this is just how you do pregnancy.

Tila Tequila Baby Bump, Breasts

The mom-to-be wrote a lengthy description of this her Facebook-posted photo, describing the physical changes that have morphed her “so petite” body.

A baby bumpin' bod now weighing in at 132 pounds.

Tequila says “everything I buy (even if they are maternity)" these days "barely even fits anymore because I keep on growing so much!”

It is funny how that works when with child.

We learned that someone got Tila Tequila pregnant back on April 18; Tila since has confirmed on her website that she will be “raising her alone.”

Baby daddy Thomas Paxton Whitaker has said he has no ill will towards his baby mama, commenting after they split, and her pregnancy went public:

Aussie rapper Iggy Azalea seemed to come out of nowhere this summer with two chart-topping hits in "Problem" and "Fancy."

Iggy's rapid ascent has caused onlookers to cry foul, understandably confused with the way Azalea went from virtual unknown to hottest rapper in the game seemingly overnight.

Some artists, such as Nicki Minaj, have claimed that Iggy's success is evidence of racism within the recording industry.

Nicki and several others in the world of hip hop have gone so far as to suggest that Iggy doesn't write her own rhymes. Some have even taken the accusation a step further, claiming that they know the identity of the ghostwriter behind Iggy's hits:

Iggy provided a guest verse on "No Mediocre," a track from the rap veteran T.I.'s ninth studio album, and it's been rumored that their collaboration didn't end there.

Recently, T.I. addressed rumors that he's the lyrical genius behind Iggy's meteoric rise:

The entertainment world is seen by many as an insular bubble unto itself, and Hollywood a small down where everyone knows or works with each other.

To a degree, both these assumptions have truth to them.

Yet while some celebrity friendships go way back (waaaay back) and other BFFs are well-documented, there are plenty of others you'd never expect.

Celebrities also aren't immune to fangirling/boying out.

If Jennifer Lawrence has taught us anything, it's that stars can geek out about meeting stars on red carpets, in press rooms and the like, just like we would.

Thanks to the selfie, more and more random celebrity run-ins and unlikely friendships are being documented on social media for the public to enjoy.

And, occasionally, scratch our collective heads at.

Here are 17 celeb selfies we never saw coming:
