The personal physician who Janet Jackson and a lot of people at the LAPD believe killed Michael Jackson is officially back at work. Patients? Banging down the door.

We're kidding about that ... hopefully. But Dr. Conrad Murray has resumed his medical practice as of this morning, his lawyer confirmed to various media outlets.

Murray will be at the Armstrong Medical Clinic in Houston, Texas, which was searched by police on July 22. Michael Jackson died on Murray's watch June 25.

Dr. Conrad Murray has been laying very low for months.

He's got a bigger motivation than clearing his name to get back to work. A judge told him he must pay $1,000 a month in child support or he goes to jail.

We don't see that AEG lawsuit panning out, either.

Whether Murray goes to jail depends on the outcome of the Jackson homicide invesigation and what charges, if any, he faces when the D.A. reviews it.

That's anyone's guess, but we don't imagine he'll get off scot free.

The ninth season of Dancing with the Stars is limping toward a finish line.

Months after the largest, most random field of contestants in show history was announced, the competition has been whittled down to three: Mya, Donny Osmond, and Kelly Osbourne.

The trio will perform a series of routines this evening and the winner will be announced tomorrow night. Let's take a look at each celebrity's odds of taking home the title:

Mya: 2-1. Easily the most talented, consistent performer of the season. Attractive, jovial, flexible. They should have canceled the series weeks ago and handed Mya the trophy.

Donny: 5-1. Way too cheesy for our taste. He also takes the competition far too seriously. Someone has to tell Mr. Osmond that DWTS is where celebs go once there's no shot at mainstream stardom any longer.

Kelly: 10-1. She has no business being here. Throughout the season, Joanna Krupa was more impressive and much better looking. Fans likely voted Kelly in because they felt about her dad being mentally unstable.

Guess THG birthday wishes weren't enough for Miley Cyrus.

The singer turns 17 today, but was feted last week with a surprise party thrown by mother Tish.

As reported by People, Miley was surrounded by friends, family and boyfriend Liam Hemsworth for the occasion, celebrating with a 1980s-themed bash at New York City's Canal Room.

"The whole thing was a surprise," said an insider, who detailed performances at the shindig by Broadway's Rock of Ages cast, along with a custom-designed cake created by Buddy Valastro, star of TLC's Cake Boss.

Two years ago, Miley enjoyed another ‘80s-themed party in Nashville. Said her mom at the time:

"She loves the ‘80s. The fashion, the big hair– she thinks it's so funky."

That explains why Cyrus is appearing in the Sex and the City sequel. As previously reported, that movie will flash back to the 1980s for a couple scenes.

Talk about a big splash! An American model measuring 205 cm (she's about 6'9") is set to be featured on the cover of Australian magazine Zoo Weekly.

You think you've seen it all. The model, named Eve, appears on the cover of the magazine's current issue alongside a 162 cm-tall (5'3") Aussie model.

On Seinfeld, George Constanza dreamed of one day sleeping with a giant woman. But George was a short, bald fella. To him, tall meant about 5'11".

Eve is truly head and shoulders above the other models out there.

"No other magazine has put a woman who's nearly seven feel tall on the cover," editor Paul Merrill said, and he's probably correct in that assumption.

"We had ... her bikini specially made, but it was worth it."

Jon and Kate Gosselin's divorce is almost final after a contentious, but generally productive all-day mediation hearing Saturday at the arbitration table.

Jon did not contest that Kate should get primary custody of their eight kids. A decision on how all their assets are split up will be made within 30 days.

Jon and Kate actually agreed to the amounts certain items were worth, but were far apart on some issues relating to how assets should be distributed.

The two unresolved issues are distribution of assets and child support. In Pennsylvania, courts award "equitable" distribution when it comes to property.

That doesn't necessarily mean 50/50, however. Neither party, whose reality show, Jon and Kate Plus 8, officially ends tonight, asked for spousal support.

The arbitration was supposed to last two days - Saturday and today - but it is believed that all major issues were handled and agreed upon Saturday.

Both Jon and Kate testified in the arbitration, the decision of which is binding on both of them and clears the way to ending their marriage for good.

It seems like both parties are ready to move on from their marriage, which consisted of Kate emasculating Jon on TV. But not without one last stunt.

In a nice gesture of PR peace, Jon brought flowers to give the impression he's not a total douche to the media to Kate as he arrived for the hearing.

Kate refused them.

"In what should have been their most serious moment as a couple," a source close to Kate told People, "Jon again resorted to a publicity stunt."

By now, most fans have heard all about Adam Lambert's controversial, sex-themed performance at the 2009 American Music Awards.

The singer grinded up against back-up dancers, pushed one's head down to his crotch and played tonsil hockey with a band member.

It was a shocking rendition of "For Your Entertainment," even for those of us accustomed to Lambert's flamboyant, over-the-top American Idol auditions. These photos explains why:

The performance was clearly meant to create buzz for the singer, whose debut album goes on sale today. As loyal Lambert followers, however, we wished he'd gone in the opposite direction.

For Adam, playing up his sexuality in such a showy manner is akin to Sarah Palin preaching about abstinence. Both strategies just play to each celebrity's base.

To Lambert's credit, he's always done his own thing. Last night's behavior was merely an extension to his American Idol acts, during the show's run this spring and its concerts this summer.

But if the singer's goal is to attract new fans and to move as many copies of his CD as possible, the performance was a failure. It went for shock value over vocal talent, the latter of which Lambert possesses in spades. He's not a gay Britney Spears. Adam can really sing.

Unfortunately, he wasted an opportunity to prove this to a new, national audience.

The talk today is all about Lambert's antics, not his voice. That's too bad because, as Adam himself said in an insightful interview last week, the man has a lot to offer America beyond his sexual preference and outlandish stage presence.

Recently, Jessica Simpson maturely took to her Twitter account to deride the CW for giving her younger sister Ashlee the pink slip from the Melrose Place cast.

Now she's rising to her sibling's defense yet again, hitting back at celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton, who dissed Ash and one-year-old son Bronx this weekend.

On Friday, Bronx's first birthday, Perez wrote: "It's been one year since Asslee pushed Bronx Mowgli through her vajayjay and it's all the family is talking about!"

Unfunny, perhaps. But quite true!

Perez ended his post by calling Bronx a "poor lil' thing" who "doesn't stand a chance!!!" Talk about stating the obvious, Perez. Still, is that so bad? Jess thinks so.

It's a battle of the blonde bimbos.

Simpson hopped on Twitter later that day and wrote a scathing rebuttal to the blogger (whose real name, for future reference, Jess, is Mario Lavandeira): 

"Does perez hilton..whatever his name really is.. have no heart at all??Don't ever attack my family again.Sad to know u hate so deeply.So Sad 4 U"

We're sad for Jessica's grade school grammar and spelling teachers. But we're glad she's sticking up for Ashlee. Good thing Jess has so much free time.

Whose side are you on?

It takes a lot to upstage Lady Gaga live, which tells you a lot about the Adam Lambert AMA performance Sunday night. He actually relegated Lady G to #2 on the list of buzzed-about, flamboyant American Music Awards performances!

That's not to suggest Gaga didn't bring the crazy as always.

In a flesh-colored bodysuit wrapped with white piping, she performed a smashing (in more ways than one) medley of her hits "Bad Romance" and "Speechless."

After "Bad Romance,"she segued into "Speechless" by using her mic stand to bust open a glass box with a piano inside. Then she climbed inside and performed.

While breaking glass bottles, accompanied by violinists wearing gas masks in smoke-filled chambers beside her, natch. A far cry from that old school NYU video.

We would suspect that Jennifer Lopez is nursing a bruise on her back after falling on stage during her performance at the American Music Awards last night.

Fortunately, that famous booty of hers helped cushion the fall somewhat.

After strutting on the stage, converted into a boxing ring, in a robe and gloves to sing "Louboutins" from her new album, Lopez gyrated with male dancers.

It was all going according to plan until J. Lo climbed onto a human pyramid of half-naked performers and jumped down, slipping and falling on stage. Ow.
