Demi Lovato Gossip

Demi Lovato is a Dark Kelly Clarkson Fan

Demi Lovato hasn't always been a shiny, happy Disney star.

The singer, whose new album comes out on September 23, told MTV News that she used to write depressing tunes.

"I used to write [really dark] songs every night in my room – like, five or six a night – and I'd be up until 5 in the morning," the singer said. "[Mom] would come up and say, 'So what are you writing?' I'd play her a song, and she'd go, 'Wow – go to therapy.' But it really is therapy for me."

Now, Lovato is on the verge of stardom. But that doesn't mean she doesn't dream of singing alongside more established singer.

"I hope to do a collaboration with Kelly Clarkson," she said. "[She] has been my idol growing up. [That] would be the biggest dream come true."

Demi Lovato Loves The Jonas Brothers

Demi Lovato thinks that Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas look like a great couple. Just one problem: They aren't one.

"They would look good together, but too bad they're not," the young singer told Us Weekly this weekend at the Arthur Ashe Kids' Day Concert in New York City. "They just get along."

Lovato added that she isn't dating anyone, either, while stating that any future beau would need to be approved by the more famous trio in the world.

"They always have my back," she said of The Jonas Brothers. "Kevin is always like, 'Do you need anything? Water?' I'm like, 'No, I'm fine... They really help me out with things I am going through."

Happy Birthday, Demi Lovato!

We'd like to wish Demi Lovato a very happy 16th birthday.

The young actress, who will be appearing alongside The Jonas Brothers in Camp Rock 2, is a growing presence in Hollywood. She's totally the BFF of fellow rising star, Selena Gomez.

Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus Put on a Happy Face

This is no fun.

Instead of clawing at each other for the cameras, supposed rivals Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus simply smiled for photographers at last night's Teen Choice Awards.

The former two Disney stars were rumored to be in a feud with the latter icon, as Cyrus is allegedly sick of Selena and Demi being compared to her by various celebrity gossip outlets. The nerve they have!

On this night, at least, public relations won out over petty jealousy. Darn.

Young Disney Stars

Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus were smiling while cameras rolled. But as soon as the Teen Choice Awards ended, we assume they put on footy pajamas and engaged in a massive pillow fight.

YouTube Tussle: Miley and Mandy Mock Selena and Demi

Wow.

The teen queen war is officially on!

For weeks now, a pressing debate on the Internet has been: Who is the next Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez or Demi Lovato? The Hollywood Gossip even pitted writer against writer on the issue, as readers have continued to weigh in with their opinions.

Based on the video below, though, it doesn't seem as though Miley is pleased with this question being raised.

Here's what you need to know before viewing it:

Gomez and Lovato posted a cute clip on YouTube of the two of them just chillin. For whatever bitter, mean-spirited, jealous reason, Cyrus and best friend Mandy Jiroux then published a video making fun of Selena and Demi.

There's nothing subtle about it. Watch Miley and Mandy mock the rising Disney stars now:

Can Miley defenders defend their girl for this? Is she really so threatened by Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato that she feels the need to mock them publicly?

Or, might there be another reason for Cyrus' sudden mean streak? Earlier this week, gossip reports have linked Selena with Nick Jonas, the rumored ex-boyfriend of - you guessed it - Miley Cyrus!

Face Off: Which Disney Star is the Next Miley Cyrus?

Miley Cyrus has catapulted to superstardom - and has already being embroiled in scandal. In Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, Disney has fresh faces waiting in the wings. These two youngsters are the subject of today's Face-Off ...

WHO IS THE NEXT MILEY CYRUS, SELENA GOMEZ OR DEMI LOVATO?

DEMI LOVATO by mischalova

Why is Demi Lovato most likely to follow in the successful footsteps of Miley Cyrus? The answer can be summed up in three words: The Jonas Brothers.

Lovato starred alongside that trio of dreamy hunks in the highly-rated Disney Channel movie, Camp Rock. A sequel is already in the works.

Cyrus has her own connection to The Jonas Brothers: a rumored fling with Nick Jonas. But - wait! - the incredible similarities between Demi and Miley don't stop there.

Each is 15 years old; each is represented by Hollywood Records; each has a parent that was a country recording artist.

But what truly makes Demi Lovato an essential Miley Cyrus clone, an artist destined to be the next teen sensation?

Her virginity.

Demi Lovato wears a purity ring around her neck, vowing never to let a man enter her sacred garden until marriage. Cyrus, similarly, attends church on a regular basis with her family and once told USA Today that faith is "the main thing."

Two talented, young stars. Each grounded in family.

Each with her legs closed and her head held high. Each on a road to super stardom about which Selena Gomez can only dream.

Demi Lovato: The Next Miley Cyrus?

A few weeks ago, we asked if Selena Gomez would be the next Miley Cyrus. And she still may be.

But it appears as though Gomez will have a fight on her hands from a familiar foe: good friend Demi Lovato.

The 15-year old actress/singer is set to tour with The Jones Brothers this fall. From there, she'll be starring in her very own show titled "Welcome to Mollywood." Does this career path sound familiar?

Demi Lovato

Remember the name Demi Lovato, folks. You'll be hearing it a lot for years to come.

The series will center on Molly, who comes from a small town and wins a role on a teen comedy series after competing on a nationwide search.

Regarding the show and star he hopes will follow in the shoes of Cyrus and/or Vanessa Hudgens (in terms of popularity, not naked photos), Gary Marsh, president of entertainment at Disney Channels Worldwide, said:

"This series is rooted in one of the core thematic attributes that we stand for, which is following your dream."

Sounds like the dream of Demi Lovato is about to come true.
