Billy Ray Cyrus on Liam Hemsworth: What a Guy! What an Actor!
Billy Ray Cyrus is shying away from fears over Satanical attacks these days.
As he continues to make amends for statements he made earlier this year (such as claiming that fame ruined his family), Billy Ray is showing major support for his daughter's boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth.
"He's a great guy," Billy Ray told E! News yesterday while promoting his patriotic new album "I'm American." "He's solid. He's got great character."
Hemsworth will also be known as a lot more than Miley Cyrus' boyfriend in a few months: he's landed the major role of Gale in The Hunger Games.
How does Billy Ray think the young actor will do?
Billy Ray Cyrus Has One Wish for Daughter
In his continuing attempt to mend his family, Billy Ray Cyrus has made clear his one wish for daughter Miley: unadulterated happiness.
"My wish for her is to be happy. To love what she's doing," the famous father tells Parade. "We've always had a slogan in our family: 'If you ain't happy, it ain't working.' You need to love what you're doing. As long as she's happy and loving making music - and I know she loves acting - that's all that matters."
Miley kicks off a tour of Australia later this month and Billy Ray says it's been incredible to watch her journey as an artist.
"I think music is an evolution of what an artist is feeling and going through in their lives. We've always been the fans of singers and songwriters who live what they're singing and sing what they're living."
Billy Ray Cyrus Expresses Regret, Love for Miley
Billy Ray Cyrus appeared on Good Morning America yesterday and somehow resisted the urge to throw a chair through a window following his sit-down with Robin Roberts.
After coming across as loonier than Tila Tequila in an earlier interview with GQ, we need to give Billy Ray props for standing up and taking responsibility this time around.
Referring to his messy marriage (now on the mend), Billy Ray says he was "surrounded in darkness" when he claimed Satan was attacking his family. Now, after re-assessing his diatribe, Billy Ray explained his point in clearer terms:
"Fame can be a dangerous animal... And it's a delicate thing... [But] I love Hannah Montana. I love Disney. I wouldn't change anything."
Tish Cyrus on Family Bond: Stronger Than Ever!
It sounds like there really is hope for the Cyrus family after all.
A few months after seemingly splitting, Billy Ray and Tish are both ready to patch up their relationship. The former attempted to do so in a public setting last week, saying on The View that he was withdrawing his petition for divorce.
Now, Tish has issued a statement via Facebook that also makes it clear she wants to work things out. Miley's mom writes:
Big thanks to all of our family, friends, and fans who have kept us in their thoughts and prayers. I feel so blessed to have so much support from all of you. Our family weathered a huge storm and I feel we are stronger than we have ever been. Much love to all of you guys! You're the BEST.
Miley, meanwhile, is busy making plans of her own: she'll set off on an international tour this spring.
Billy Ray Cyrus: My Divorce is Off!
During an appearance on The View that will air today, Billy Ray Cyrus made a startling announcement: he said he's called off his divorce from wife Tish.
"I want to put my family back together," he told the hosts and the audience, adding: "Things are the best they've ever been."
That's quite the departure from how things have been recently, considering the interview Billy Ray gave to GQ last month in which he blamed Hannah Montana for destroying his family and said Satan was attacking Miley.
Billy Ray Cyrus: Working to Mend Family, Sound Less Idiotic
Billy Ray Cyrus will not be appearing on The View today. His daughter made sure of that.
But the country singer won't let Miley stop him from making like Michael Lohan anyway, going off to a national publication about the importance of his loved ones.
"It is very important to me to work on mending my family right now," Billy Ray told People in a statement. "My family is the most important thing I have, and we are working together to make sure our future is stronger and healthier."
As for saying he wished Miley never signed for Hannah Montana, and that Lucifer himself was attacking his family? Billy Ray says those comments to GQ were "explosive, and unintentionally so."
"It is all a learning process, and we thank everyone for their support and respect of our privacy as we sort through very important family issues."
Seriously, people, stop disrespecting their privacy by reading the interviews Billy Ray continues to give! Sheesh! Wanna catch up on the entire, sordid mess? Watch The Pulse now:
Miley Cyrus Bans Father from Appearing on The View
Poor Billy Ray Cyrus.
Not only is Miley's dad under attack by Satan, but his plans to continually make headlines by throwing his daughter under the bus have been thwarted: Miley and her handlers have shot down Billy Ray's scheduled interview on The View tomorrow.
"She went nuts," a family friend tells Pop Eater of Miley's reaction to her dad sitting down with Barbara Walters and company. "Only last week, Billy shot his mouth off in GQ, and now he planned to sit down and talk more crap about his family. No way would Miley or her team let that happen."
Sources say Miley is furious over her father's rant. She was even in denial over his claims and accusations. Until Billy Ray booked this PR opportunity, that is.
"At first Miley defended her dad, wanting to believe he had been tricked into saying bad things by the magazine," added the insider. "Miley truly wanted to give her father the benefit of the doubt, goodness knows she's said things she wishes she could take back. But after she found out about his media trip to New York, no more excuses could be made."

Rosie O'Donnell Sort of Defends Billy Ray Cyrus
Billy Ray Cyrus may have come out and directly blamed his daughter's involvement in show business for recent troubles, but Rosie O'Donnell doesn't think he meant it.
Asked about the country singer's rant to GQ this month, in which he said Hannah Montana "destroyed my family," Rosie told Access Hollywood that Cyrus was just being a concerned parent.
“I think he’s doing what a lot of us are doing that have teenagers, including me, [saying], ‘What the hell is going on here? I thought I was in control of this place and now the kids are acting out. The animals are ruining the zoo!’”
Does O'Donnell think Hollywood is responsible for Miley's behavior? No. It's just a teenager acting like a teenager.
“A 16 or 18-year-old girl is going to separate from the parents no matter what. They’re going to smoke some salvia... they’re going to drink some beer. This is what happens when kids are 18 and they’re trying to separate."
Michael Lohan to Billy Ray Cyrus: I Feel Ya!
Michael Lohan has just reached out to fellow embattled celeb dad Billy Ray Cyrus in an open letter. We have no earthly idea why, so don't even ask.
Billy Ray raised eyebrows earlier this week when he told GQ that Satan and daughter Miley's star-making gig on Hannah Montana ruined his family.
He says he's desperate to get his famous offspring "sheltered from the storm." Those words clearly hit close to home for the father of Lindsay Lohan.
If anyone knows what it's like to help his little girl follow her dreams into show business and explode into a bigger star anyone could've imagined, it's MiLo.
If anyone also knows what it's like to see that little girl's innocence stripped away, and for her to become embroiled in one scandal after another, it's MiLo.
If anyone knows what it's like to become estranged while in prison, then resort to ridiculous stunts like booking her on Letterman without her consent ...
Okay, Billy Ray didn't do that. But there are some similarities, people!
They're spelled out in Michael's open letter to the Cyrus patriarch ...
