Miley Cyrus Out, Selena Gomez In for Animated Vampire Movie
Selena Gomez is joining the young vampire craze. And the actress is taking over for pal Miley Cyrus in order to do it.
A rep for Adam Sandler has confirmed to E! News that Gomez will replace Miley in Hotel Transylvania, an animated feature in which Sandler will voice the operator of a high-end resort that caters to vampires, and who freaks out when a boy finds the locale and falls for the Count's teen-aged daughter.
She'll be played by Selena.
Other characters in Hotel Transylvania will be voiced by Andy Samberg, Cee Lo Green and Kevin James. The film is scheduled for a September release.
No word on why Miley dropped out of the project.

Inside the magazine, Gomez isn't shy about expressing her feelings for Justin Bieber, saying:
“I’m just like every 19-year-old girl. If you’re in love, you’re in love to the fullest, and you just want to go to the movies, hang out, and be as normal as possible. I’m fortunate that I’ve found someone who has that philosophy."
He also has the means to make those movie dates a tad abnormal. One time, Bieber rented out an entire basketball arena for the couple.
Selena Gomez to Visit the Congo on UNICEF Mission
Move over, Justin Bieber. You aren't the only charitable individual in your relationship.
Following past trips to Ghana and Chile as an ambassador for UNICEF, Selena Gomez is now planning an even more dangerous trek, telling E! News last Friday night:
"In April, we're going to go somewhere a little harder, the Congo... I was talking to Joel Madden and he works with UNICEF and he went... and he said it was the most intense thing he had ever done in his entire life - and the best thing he had ever done."
Gomez has served as a UNICEF ambassador for approximately two years, raising over $200,000 for the cause last week during an event at The House of Blues.
"We're helping to save the lives of children all over the world," Selena wrote on her Facebook page.

Selena Gomez on Passion of Beliebers: It's All Good!
Selena Gomez has received numerous death threats from misguided Justin Bieber fans who apparently don't want their favorite singer to be happy.
Is the artist scared in the moment sometimes, when such nasty messages are sent her way? We'd have to believe so. But asked about her boyfriend's enthusiastic supporters during an interview with Baltimore radio station Z104.3 this week, the 19-year-old came across quite mature and understanding.
"It's a little odd, but I understand it completely," Selena said. "It's amazing to me to see how many passionate fans there are. So obviously, you've just got to think of the fans first, and that's okay."
Gomez and Bieber both rang in 2012 from Times Square, with the former belting out a performance as soon as the clock struck midnight.
Selena admits it's "kind of" annoying that she and her young man can't share the same fans, but added it's "kind of cool we have our own individual [fans]."

Selena Gomez Sends Holiday Wishes, Appreciation to Fans
Selena Gomez has spoken out for the first time since a family tragedy.
A week after her mother's miscarriage went public, Gomez posted the following message on her Facebook page last night:
“Belated Merry Christmas everybody.. I can’t thank you enough for all of your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate every one of you.. I love you all so much and we hope you and your family had a beautiful Christmas! Love, Me, Momma, Brian and our guardian angel Scarlett."
Our thoughts go out to Selena and her family. It's little comfort in this time of sorrow, but Gomez did crack our top 10 celebrities of 2011 list. She sits at number eight.

Mother of Selena Gomez Suffers Miscarriage
Sad news today from Selena Gomez.
A few weeks after announcing to the world that her mother was expecting a baby, the singer was forced to cancel a couple shows this weekend because, according to E! News sources, the child was lost to a miscarriage.
Gomez was scheduled to perform this evening at the B96 Jingle Bash 2011 at the Allstate Arena outside of Chicago and also tomorrow at 106.1 KISS FM's Jingle Bell Bash at the in Seattle. Her next live gig will likely take place on New Year's Eve, when Selena takes part in MTV's annual bash. This year's event will be hosted by Demi Lovato and Tyler Posey.

Thomas Brodnicki is one seriously effed up individual. But at least he seems aware of that fact.
The stalker who has repeatedly threatened the life of Selena Gomez - at one point telling an officer he had "fifty conversations with God about killing Gomez" - actually told a judge today to issue a permanent restraining order against him.
In sworn declaration, excerpted on TMZ, Brodnicki wrote to a Los Angeles court: "I believe that a restraining order should be issued against me to prevent me from trying to contact Selena Gomez.
"I do not wish to object to the restraining order against me because I know it is the only thing that will make me stay away from Selena."
Brodnicki, 46, was placed on psychiatric hold last month after threatening to "scratch people's eyes out on the street," according to a police report, and telling folks he traveled to Los Angeles to find Selena.
