Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis: It's NOT Over!

Don't put Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp in our celebrity breakups category just yet.

The former has finally addressed the ongoing rumors of their split, and issued a fairly strong denial of reports that they've gone their separate ways after 14 years.

Making the publicity rounds for her new movie, Café de Flore, Paradis offered a clear statement to French program Grand Journal after earlier vague responses.

"Yes it's false! Of course it's false!" the 39-year-old singer-actress said when pressed about herself and Depp, 48. "Such rumors can truly harm my family."

"We separate in winter and we get married again in summer. I'm at this point at my 12th pregnancy," she said, referencing endless gossip about the pair.

According to Paradis, what she really takes issue with is when reporters write hurtful things that end up affecting 11-year-old Lily and 9-year-old Jack.

"These rumors are the content of those magazines that end up in the fireplace or in the toilets and that's about it," Vanessa Paradis said pointedly.

The Rango star has yet to comment either way on the rumors, of course.

Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis: Is It Over?

Are Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, his partner of 14 years now, a thing of the past or headed in that direction fast? Such rumors have been swirling this week.

The pair has not made a public appearance together for more than a year, and the Dark Shadows star's solo trip to the Golden Globes fueled the split rumors.

People reports that America's favorite actor and the French singer-actress have called it quits, having led "separate lives" for some time now.

The couple has long maintained separate homes, in West Hollywood and France.

A source allegedly close to Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis said the following:

"They bet that they could move to California for long stays for his career. They bet that things could continue there as they had in the south of France."

"They lost that bet. Vanessa has gone seven years between albums and several years between film projects while he became Jack Sparrow," the source said.

Johnny Depp Repeats as America's Favorite Actor

Johnny Depp is having problems with long-time girlfriend Vanessa Paradis, according to tabloid reports.

But there are no such issues between the A-lister and the American public, the results of a new Harris Poll make clear: Depp has been voted the country's favorite actor for the second year in a row.

Depp tops the ball over two second-place heavyweights, Denzel Washington and Clint Eastwood; while Tom Hanks and, apparently, John Wayne round out the top five.

Completing the top 10, in order of finish: George Clooney, Sandra Bullock, Harrison Ford, Will Smith and Adam Sandler, meaning no voters actually saw Jack and Jill.

Do you agree with these results? Who from the top five, is your favorite?

Johnny Depp Speaks on The Rum Diary Role: A Living Tribute to Hunter S. Thompson

Johnny Depp, who took audiences inside the world of Hunter S. Thompson in 1998's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, returns to that warped paradise again this week.

The Oscar winner stars in The Rum Diary, based on Thompson's novel by the same name and centered around a journalist named Paul Kemp (a.k.a. Thompson).

Depp recently took THG's partner site, Movie Fanatic, on a journey to the alcohol-soaked paradise in Puerto Rico ... not literally, sadly. But he talked all about it.

This is a special film for Depp, who found the manuscript for what would be one of Thompson's final books, and for whom portraying his close friend is a true honor.

Watch The Rum Diary trailer below, then follow the link for Movie Fanatic's one-on-one interview with Johnny Depp himself, the actor who carries on Hunter's legacy ...

Johnny Depp Apologizes for Poor Word Choice

Johnny Depp is very sorry.

The Oscar-winning actor has moved quickly in response to the latest issue of Vanity Fair, in which he says that taking part in a magazine photo shoot is akin to being raped. Says the actor in a statement released today:

Vanity Fair Spread

“I am truly sorry for offending anyone in any way. I never meant to. It was a poor choice of words on my part in an effort to explain a feeling. I understand there is no comparison and I am very regretful. In an effort to correct my lack of judgment, please accept my heartfelt apology.”

After excerpts from interview were released, RAINN offered to educate Depp on just why his comparison was so off-base and insensitive.

Do you agree? Do you think an apology was necessary?

Yes, it was totally inappropriate!

RAINN Calls Out Johnny Depp for Rape Comment

He may get away with saying almost anything as Captain Jack Sparrow, but Johnny Depp is at the center of a controversy due to remarks he makes in the latest issue of Vanity Fair.

In an interview with the magazine, the actor expresses his disdain for photo shoots by comparing them to rape, actually reiterating that word for emphasis.

In response, RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) has issued the statement:

"While photos may feel at times intrusive, being photographed in no way compares to rape - a violent crime which affects another American every 2 minutes. RAINN welcomes the opportunity to speak with Mr. Depp and educate him about the real life experiences faced by survivors every day, and ways that he can work with RAINN to help."

Do you think Depp should apologize for his word choice?

Johnny Depp Compares Photo Shoots to Rape

If he had to do it again, we're guessing Johnny Depp would choose his words more carefully.

But the actor is asked about being the subject of photo shoots in the latest issue of Vanity Fair and responds:

"You just feel like you’re being raped somehow. Raped. The whole thing. It feels like a kind of weird - just weird, man... Whenever you have a photo shoot or something like that, it’s like - you just feel dumb. It’s just so stupid.”

Johnny Depp in Vanity Fair

The iconic star - who will next be seen this winter in The Rum Diary, the trailer for which you can watch HERE - is also one of the busier actors in Hollywood. Why? Because he has a family and the studios pay him so damn much!

“Basically, if they’re going to pay me the stupid money right now, I’m going to take it," Depp says. "I have to. I mean, it’s not for me. Do you know what I mean? At this point, it’s for my kids. It’s ridiculous, yeah, yeah. But ultimately is it for me? No. No. It’s for the kids.”

Fedora Fashion Face-Off: John vs. Johnny!

Note to John Mayer: get your own look!

The irritating artist was spotted out this week in an ensemble that eerily resembles the typical fashion choices of Johnny Depp: facial hair in specific spots, a fedora, a shirt.

Depp, whose latest movie trailer has been released, is yet to comment. But we'd like to hear from THG readers. What do you think of this blatant ganking? And who wears this fashion statement the best?

One of these men is Johnny Depp. The other is trying to look like Johnny Depp. Which do you prefer?
