What's not to love about Tom Cruise? Well, potentially a lot of things. But all in all, he's a quality actor with dozens of good films on...

Tom Cruise has gone from the top of Oprah's couch to the Edge of Tomorrow.

The actor, though still considered totally crazy by many of the world's population, starred in his best-reviewed film in years this summer, cementing his place as an all-time great.

Love him, hate him or think he's scouring the church of Scientology for his next young wife, there's no denying Cruise's box office success. Nor is there any denying the following fact:

He turns 52 years old today!

Try to decide whether you'd rather do Cruise or Brad Pitt and then flip through 52 photos of the birthday boy now!

When Kim Kardashian and Kanye West got together, we gave them our best side-eye, but it didn't seem that far-fetched that people so in love with themselves and attention would gravitate toward each other.

Not so with some of the other big couples in Hollywood, particularly those of the May-December varieties where the age gap is so great one could be the other's parent.

Then there are those pairings that inspire the public collectively asking "what could they POSSIBLY have in common?" Besides fame, that is. (And likely an affinity for kink.)

Some of Hollywood's best and brightest change significant others like normal people change underwear, so it's no surprise that some couplings are pretty bizarre.

Nevertheless, here are 17 weird celebrity couples we can't even believe:

Macaulay Culkin and Mila Kunis
Before becoming Ashton Kutcher's Baby Mama, Mila Kunis dated Macaulay Culkin...for EIGHT YEARS. Speaking of Ashton...

And speaking of those (sometimes) fleeting May-December romances, check out our gallery of some celebrity couples with big age differences between them.

It may have seemed like an impossible mission, but Tom Cruise is the top gun once again.

With most attention focused this weekend on The Fault in Our Stars, Cruise is anchoring Edge of Tomorrow, a futuristic action movie that is earning the actor his best reviews in year.

What, exactly, are critics saying about Cruise and Emily Blunt's blockbuster? Find out below...

Edge of Tomorrow Movie Poster

The concept is sublime. The execution is brilliant… this thriller could very well be the biggest surprise of the summer. - Joel Amos

All in all, a perfectly superior example of industrially fortified Hollywood fun, and as good a guarantee as Doug Liman can offer that we haven't seen the last of him yet. - Geoff Pevere

The whole thing begins to feel like a giant-screen videogame - with the gamer getting a little further, a little deeper, with each new push of the Start button. - Steven Rea

Jimmy Fallon introduced a new game to his Tonight Show audience last night.

Following the funniest edition of Word Sneak ever (with Ricky Gervais), the host welcomed Tom Cruise on Wednesday in promotion of the actor's latest summer blockbuster, The Edge of Tomorrow.

But the two stars lived on the edge of danger in the following statement, tossing footballs through glass windows with their faces on it in a game Fallon has dubbed Face Breakers.

Watch now to see who came out on top:

We're not sure about this one.

Wouldn't it have been more fun to see Cruise nip-sync with Fallon?

In the real world, there are two rules to follow for a healthy work environment:

  1. Don't steal someone else's food from the fridge.
  2. Don't date your coworkers.

Both make for awkward water cooler run-ins and should probably be avoided.

Unless, of course, you're a famous movie star who dates other famous movie stars and you decide to date your coworkers. Then things just get interesting and awkward.

Especially when the characters you're portraying are together on screen.

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum
Channing Tatum met now-wife Jenna Dewan on the set of Step Up. She was totally impressed by his moves.

Why? LOVE SCENES. Look no further than Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman in Eyes Wide Shut to see what we mean. Pretty sure Keith Urban's neeeeeever watching THAT movie.

It's no secret that actors are often booked to play characters of much younger ages. Kerr Smith was 26 when he played 16 year old Jack McPhee on Dawson's Creek.

His incredibly youthful appearance (which has since become a full head of gray hair by 40) worked in his favor. Other celebrities have ridden a similar wave of good fortune.

Playing younger roles on camera certainly helps keep them younger in our minds, but for many stars, the truth is they really look like they're only as old as their characters.

Have they found the fountain of youth? Are they just the product of a slow-aging gene pool? Maybe they're just secret friends with Dr. Botox and his friend The Scalpel?

Who knows! But here are 19 stars who are older than they look:

Jennifer Aniston
Jennifer Aniston is 45! Contrary to reports, she is not becoming a mom in her mid-40s. Probably.

We know. We don't believe it either. Especially not #5.

In fact, to further test that fountain of youth theory, here are nine pairs of stars who are the same age, but you'd never know it by looking at them ...

Some were brought together by music, others by meth. One couple bonded over religion, two more over humor. One friendship started in Boston, another in the halls of a fictional hospital.

But the following famous bromances all have one thing in common, as sang by the very first pairing listed below:

Guy love, that’s all it is... Guy love, he’s mine I’m his... There’s nothing gay about it in our eyes... It’s guy love, between two guys.

Indeed, J.D. and Turk had it right a long time ago on Scrubs.

It's always fun when two male pals hit it off in Hollywood. Flip through the top 13 friendships of this nature below and sing it loud and proud: It's guy love!

Zach Braff and Donald Faison

At last night's Maleficent premiere in Los Angeles, Brad Pitt got assaulted by an idiotic "reporter" from Ukraine.

So the actor had a rough evening.

But you can make it up to the star below by casting your vote in his sexy showdown with Tom Cruise. If that's how you actually feel, of course.

Both Pitt and Cruise walked the red carpet of film premieres last night, with the latter doing his part to promote Edge of Tomorrow and Pitt showing his support for quasi wife Angelina Jolie.

Who looked better? With whom would you prefer to star in a home movie, of the Kim Kardashian sex tape variety, that is? VOTE NOW:

And the Winner is?

Perhaps you've heard, but Kim Kardashian married Kanye West this weekend.

No, really! Those kids just up and decided to get married with no fanfare at all.

We kid... a lot. But while we await word on just how much Kim and Kanye spent to tie the knot in Florence (we know how much they earned, approximately: $20 million), let's take a look at some of the most expensive wedding bills in celebrity history.

From athletes to singers to members of British Royalty, brides and grooms from a number of industries have often spared no expense in pledging their love and loyalty to their spouse for eternity.

Or, you know, for 72 days...

Prince William and Kate Middleton
In fairness, $32 million of the $34 million tab went to security. The rest of the money was spent on flowers ($800,000) food ($150,000) and champagne ($60,000), among other details.

What's in a name? As it turns out, maybe everything.

Since Shakespeare first posited the question in Romeo and Juliet, actors have been using fake names to land professional roles. Not only did it allow them some semblance of privacy before the dawn of Wikipedia, but let's face it, some people just aren't born with great names.

Ella Maria Lani Yelich-O'Connor? Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta? Quite a mouthful.

If an actor or musician's entire career is dedicated to being someone else - a character or personality, perhaps - then a good stage name can go a long way to making that career explode.

More celebrities use pseudonyms than you might think. In fact, here are 67 stars who don't use their real names. Which ones did you know before viewing this gallery?

Lorde
Musical sensation Lorde was given the name Ella Maria Lani Yelich-O'Connor at birth. We'd probably go with Lorde, too.
