What does an Oscar winner have in common with a former Jersey Shore cast member?

How can the First Lady of the United States relate to the woman who had sex with Ray J on video camera?

Aside from really weird Instagram photos and a love of revealing their skin to Internet followers, what could Rihanna talk to Miley Cyrus about for hours on end?

The answer to all these questions is one and the same: HAIR.

Nearly all famous females (and a few famous males) have undergone major hairstyle transformations over the past few months, from shortening their locks to dyeing them an unexpected color.

So, in honor of Throwback Thursday, we've collected a number (29, to be exact) of the most radical alterations in the following photo gallery and we're asking readers to consider:

Who is 'doing it right? And who is 'doing it way, way, way wrong?

Lena Dunham Blonde Hair
We can't tell people, can you? Does Lena Dunham have a new hair color?

Chris Brown and Rihanna may no longer be together romantically, but they are still bonded closely ... at least according to the necklace he's sporting.

The singer has been all over New York and Los Angeles this week promoting his new album X, performing on the Tonight Show and hitting all the stops.

While making the media rounds, he's been sporting an necklace with an angel on it.

One that perhaps not surprisingly looks exactly like Rihanna's signature accessory.

Asked by TMZ, which of course noticed this similarly, he clammed up fast.

People close to Chris deny that the thing is linked to Rihanna, so either:

Taylor Swift is known for many things: her music, her relationships, and now more than ever - her flawless sense of style!

Yes, after a year of treating Manhattan like her own personal catwalk, Taylor has been named People magazine's Best Dressed Woman of 2014.

Taylor Swift
Taylor rockin' the red carpet, as usual.

If you haven't been paying attention to Taylor's NYC style, she's basically been schooling the entire city on how to look flawless for every occasion.

Taylor even looks perfect leaving the gym, and if you've ever sweated through your Under Armour after 4 minutes on the elliptical, you know what a feat that is.

Yes, Taylor's New York hotness is a vast improvement on her old girl-next-door look. Even so, some feel that People's pick has a lot to do with the fact that Swifty's got a new album to promote.

Last week, CBS and the NFL nixed plans to use the song "Run This Town" for their broadcast intro for Thursday's Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game.

Yesterday, Rihanna ripped into CBS on Twitter, accusing the network of victimizing her and offering a terse response to their plans to use the planned intro for next week's game instead: "F--k you!"

Rihanna is an Icon

Now, RiRi is going a step further and claiming that the NFL and CBS had no right use her song in the first place.

In fact, she says she only found out that her 2009 collaboration with Jay-Z was to be featured in the broadcast when a friend sent her a press release reporting that it was already a done deal.

In the wake of the Ray Rice scandal that's still sending shockwaves through the league, producers claimed they felt the intro featuring Rihanna's hook, and narration by Don Cheadle would be inappropriately light-hearted.

When CBS pulled Rihanna’s NFL intro to its first-ever Thursday Night Football telecast last week, it was a questionable but more or less accepted move.

Some felt it was unfair to punish Rihanna, a domestic violence survivor, but given the astonishing Ray Rice video and controversy, CBS nixed her intro.

Now that they want to slide her music back in this week, however? Well, there's at least one individual who seems pretty unhappy with the decision:

Rihanna NFL Tweet

Last week, CBS said playing a pop song didn’t fit with the serious tone of its hour-long pregame show, almost half of which was dedicated to Rice.

The first 25 minutes focused exclusively on the player's release by the Baltimore Ravens, who were playing that night, and indefinite suspension.

In the aftermath of the video of him striking his now-wife Janay Palmer, the pregame show coverage included a plea by James Brown to stop domestic violence.

“We thought journalistically and from a tone standpoint, we had to have the appropriate tone and coverage,” CBS Sports chairman Sean McManus said.

CBS made a last-minute decision to drop Rihanna from performing during last night’s Ravens-Steelers NFL pregame show, leading fans to note the obvious irony.

Instead of a performance featuring the singer, the network instead aired commentary about Ray Rice, the disgraced former Baltimore running back.

  • Rihanna Waving
  • Ray Rice Pic

The video of Rice knocking out Janay Palmer which surfaced this week led to his release and indefinite suspension, while embroiling the NFL in controversy.

Rihanna, of course, can feel Palmer's pain, and like Rice's now-wife, famously took back her abuser romantically even after he pummeled her brutally.

She and Chris Brown have broken up a second time, but it's impossible not to note the parallels, and the incongruence of Rihanna getting nixed by CBS.

The league is facing major backlash for failing to take harsher action against Ray, initially suspending him for just two games before this video leaked.

Some have speculated that they saw this video prior to this week, or that the powers that be didn't try too hard to track it down. Either way, the NFL looks terrible.

It's only been one day since nude photos of Jennifer Lawrence appeared online signaling the start of a scandal that would eventually result in hundreds of racy photos of female celebs going public.

In that time, some of the alleged hacking victims have denied the photos are authentic, while others have admitted they were caught with their pants down and vowed legal vengeance.

Stars both male and female have spoken out against the invasion of privacy. Lena Dunham even slammed the hacker as a "sex offender."

All in al,l the whole incident has taught us some valuable lessons about carefully guarding our private images and - more importantly - reminded us of the importance of respecting the sanctity of each other's hard drives.

And it's taught us some other things as well:

Jennifer Lawrence Loves Selfies
J-Law really loves posing for nude selfies. Unfortunately for her, someone broke into her private collection.

For example, who knew that Jennifer Lawrence takes more selfies than Kylie and Kendall Jenner combined?

It's the scandal that's threatening to bring down the Internet:

Some loser hacker has broken into the cell phones and computers of famous women throughout Hollywood, posting photos of Jennifer Lawrence nude and Kaley Cuoco nude online and causing many to wonder:

Who might be next?

Whoever it is, a handful of females (and, yes, also one male) can relate, considering naked picture scandals have been in existence for nearly as long as the Internet itself.

Who has been victimized in the past? Who possibly played the victim while riding her bare attention to new levels of fame? And who would you never want to see in her birthday suit ever again?

If you're reading this, Jennifer, Kaley and the others whose privacy has been wrongly invaded by this pervert on 4chan, perhaps this is a bit of solace: You are not alone...

Demi Lovato
Photos of Demi Lovato in bed with Wilmer Valderrama went viral in the spring of 2014. Some were pretty darn racy.

If you're not sitting down, you may want to do so before we break this shocking news:

Rihanna loves weed.

We know it changes everything you thought you knew about the squeaky-clean songbird responsible for such family friendly jams as "S&M" and "Pour It Up," but it's true. She even posted video evidence online over the weekend:

Yes, while the rest of us were sucking down beers at lame backyard barbecues, RiRi celebrated Labor Day by laboring to roll a bunch of blunts on a yacht, which we're assuming is pretty challenging.

But while it may have been a holiday weekend, Rihanna certainly doesn't need a special occasion to get blazed:

Odd behavior is sort of a hallmark of being famous. We've come to expect some celebrities to pull ridiculous stunts in the name of art or self-promotion.

When Shia LaBeouf wears a paper bag on his head, we tip our heads to the side and tap our chins and go "hmmm..." and wait for answers.

When James Franco hits on an 18 year old on Instagram, we accuse him of being a dirty old man and then realize that's exactly what happens in his newest flick, label it a publicity stunt, and move on to the next scandal.

But then there are our pop stars and the Twitter users who love and loathe them who ask questions that really make us think ..

Why Does Lady Gaga Look Like a Hash Brown?
Good question, @luisspears. Very good question indeed.

Too bad the only answers we can really come up with for these 23 questions for pop stars which cannot actually be answered are "because" and "drugs, of course."

But there's really no way to explain Miley Cyrus' right knee.

Rihanna Quotes

I get asked about it all the time and I’m like, You’re asking, but you know the answer. I don’t even like to address it anymore.

Rihanna [on rumors that she dated Jay-Z]

Sometimes you just need your privacy. But it comes with the territory. There's no privacy when you are out in the public.
