We talk frequently about celebrity look-alikes who we swear have to be distantly related, but this set of mind blowing photos has us questioning everything.

Somewhere in a bygone era, was there a historical figure who looked JUST like us? Are we all reincarnates of others who walked the Earth ages ago?

The similarities between these 19 celebrities and their long (long) lost doppelgangers are simultaneously hilarious, eye-popping and somehow real.

From U.S. Presidents to war heroes, Popes to works of Renaissance art, and regular folks whose names we'll never know, these look-alikes will astound you.

Who knew Jay Z was a fixture of Harlem in 1939, or that Nicolas Cage fought in the Civil War? Or that Keanu Reeves really travels through time a la Bill & Ted?

Now you do, people. Now you do.

To paraphrase Jonah Hill, whose gay slur at a photographer went viral today, being good at making movies does not make one good at being a famous person.

Celebrity status and paparazzi attention go hand-in-hand. Sometimes to the point of hand-to-hand combat if you're Kanye West. It's a very weird dichotomy.

Some celebs have dealing with paps down to a science and even use it to their advantage (Kim Kardashian). Others rarely keep their cool (Justin Bieber).

Others still, like Jonah, aren't famous enough to get used to being hounded, but are still famous enough to get harassed occassionally and make a bad decision.

Then there's Alec Baldwin, who's in his own league.

Take a look at all of the above, and many more stars who have had memorable paparazzi clashes they wish they could take back (or not) below:

We have an update on Alec Baldwin's arrest in New York City this morning.

First, the actor did not actually get arrested, according to a People magazine source.

Instead, the Emmy winner was simply detailed and issues a summons after police nabbed him biking the wrong way down the street and failing to be in possession of an ID at the time.

How did the notoriously angry star react to this situation? Pretty much as expected...

Alec Baldwin is making like Shia LaBeouf.

A couple weeks after that really annoying young actor said he has has retired from public life, the Emmy winner and infamous paparazzi hater has done the same.

"I've lived this for 30 years, I'm done with it," Baldwin writes in a New York magazine cover story, adding:

"I'm aware that it's ironic that I'm making this case in the media, but this is the last time I'm going to talk about my personal life in an American publication ever again."

Baldwin, of course, has become more known for his temper than the sense of humor that earned him many awards for playing Jack Donaghy on 30 Rock.

Alec Baldwin has unleashed his temper once again.

But this time the target was a follower on Twitter, not a cameraman on the street. And this time no anti-homosexual language was used. So... hey... progress!

  • Alec Baldwin Close Up
  • Woody Allen Pic

The actor blew up, though, when asked by a Twitter follower whether he owes Dylan Farrow an explanation after Woody Allen's stepdaughter wrote in The New York Times on Saturday that the director sexually assaulted her as a child.

"@ABFalecbaldwin don't you think maybe you owe #DylanFarrow an apology?," asked the Internet user, to which the Emmy Award-winner shot back:

Joan Rivers is standing up for Alec Baldwin.

By saying the actor is misunderstood? That his actions don't follow his homophobic words? That he's only human and deserves yet another chance?

Nope, nope and nope.

Instead, the comedian tells TMZ in the following video that America needs to "calm down" over its political correctness because everyone is a "fairy" or a "kike" or a "N-gger."

Watch the following video to see Rivers use every epithet in the book in order to make a point:

Baldwin was fired from MSNBC this week following an outburst two weeks ago in which he used some very coarse, anti-gay language in his latest tirade against a member of the paparazzi.

Some may believe Rivers has a point here, but she likely could have chosen a more articulate way to express it.

Temperamental actor and commentator Alec Baldwin has been fired by MSNBC following his homophobic outburst earlier this month ... and low ratings.

Given the controversy and general liability of having him around, the network cut ties with the host of the ratings-challenged Up Late with Alec Baldwin.

Sources at MSNBC confirm that the decision to can Alec was based, in part, on his recent outburst, in which he called a photographer a "c--ksucking f-g."

One would think, given that this wasn't even the first time he went off on an offensive tirade at members of the media. Or the second. This year.

Baldwin immediately went into damage control mode after the incident, but arguably, that only made matters worse for the embattled father of two.

First, he claimed he said the word "fathead." Seriously.

Not only Alec Baldwin support gay rights, he has been in love with men himself, he said at the Dreamforce tech conference in San Francisco this week.

In the wake of his recent homophobic slurs, the actor went out of his way to show that he's not anti-gay. On the contrary, in fact. He loves his lawyer.

At one point during the conference, Baldwin called out his attorney, Matt, who he told, in a joking manner, that "I love you. I love you in THAT WAY."

Baldwin then turned serious, saying "I've loved men in my life. There are some men I've loved in my life as much, if not more, than the women in my life."

"I don't have a sexual preference for men, but I've loved men. I've been in love with about 3 or 4 men ... as much, if not more, than any woman I've loved."

He then added, "I don't wanna have a sexual relationship with them."

Fair enough, Alec. Now we just gotta work on your rage issues ...

She isn't using any controversial language, but Ireland Baldwin is steaming mad.

Following her father's latest outburst against the paparazzi - in which Alec Baldwin referred to a photographer by a homosexual epithet - this 18-year old took to Twitter and sort of defended her dad's actions.

"My dad is far from a homophobe or a racist," Ireland Tweeted, adding that her father continues to deal with "anger management" issues.

The New York Daily News subsequently ran an article quoting Ireland's Tweets and headlined it with "Little Pig' to the Rescue!," a reference to a 2007 voicemail in which Alec went off on his then-12-year old daughter.

And at this, Ireland went off on the newspaper.
