Poor James Glennon.
The 22-month old doesn't just have Amber Portwood for a mother...
... the 22-month is also apparently just like Amber Portwood.
And while we know it's mean to judge and while we know we should try to be as understanding as possible and consider the context for people who get into serious trouble, well;
If true, this simply sucks for the young child.
Portwood, of course, is best known for her long-running role on Teen Mom OG.
But she's more recently best known for having gotten arrested in July 2019 for allegedly assaulting boyfriend Andrew Glennon while he was holding little James in his arms, even (allegedly) taking a machete to the bathroom door behind which daddy and son were coweriing.
Amber hasn't spoken in much detail about the incident, and has stayed especially quiet on social media of late.
But she talked this week to Us Weekly about her son and at least made it sound as if she's very active in his life.
“I see a lot of myself in him and it’s beautiful,” the reality star told this tabloid, adding:
“He loves music and that’s one thing that I love. And he loves just being around me and cuddling, and always wants me to pick him up and dance and move him around.”
This is obviously a positive thing overall.
Thankfully, James was so young when his mother and father got into their vicious altercation last summer that he's likely forgotten about it already.
Is Portwood really a fit and/or responsible mother? It hasn't seem that way for awhile.
But it's good that her kid still views her as one, you know? Ignorance is bliss for a toddler.
Portwood also Us Weekly her son is doing “amazing” while she and Glennon try to adjust to a coparenting lifestyle following their break-up.
We know a restraining order against Portwood was put in place at one point and she wasn't permitted to spend any time with James -- but it's unclear at the moment just where this legal situation stands.
According to the police, Portwood hit Glennon “while he was holding” their toddler during an argument, resulting in this no-contact order with her son.
It sounds as if the order was lifted soon afterward, however, and she has since been granted supervised visits.
As for her future as a free woman?
The 29-year old MTV personality worked out a plea deal in October 2019 and walked away with a felony charge and one year of probation.
She won't be heading to prison any time soon.
This point, Portwood says she to see her son “fairly a lot,” telling Us Weekly in this new interview:
“I get a lot of people tell me after my days with him: ‘I can tell that you saw James today because you just have that smile on your face,’ and when I hear that, I’m like, ‘Yeah.’
"It’s just the truth."

This would be TOMORROW NIGHT, March 17, at 8/7c. Get psyched, people!
