On Wednesday, the world was shocked to learn that Ashley Martson filed for divorce just two days before her hospitalization.
She's back home from the hospital, and has apparently changed her mind.
Because Ashley withdrew the divorce paperwork. Huh.
In Touch Weekly reports that both Ashley Martson and Jay Smith are peeved that everyone knows their business.
Or, at least, that they wish that they'd gotten to spill the beans their own way.
"However, it is frustrating to both Ashley and Jay that this got leaked," the insider shares.
The source says they didn't want this known "without them being the ones to get to share their story the way they wanted to."
"It should be noted also that even though they have moved forward towards a divorce," the insider continues.
"They have remained friends," the source notes. "And are super close and on great terms."
E! News reports that they're on more than just good terms.
They report that, according to a Pennsylvania court, Ashley withdrew her divorce filing on Tuesday, January 22.
That was only 11 days after she initially filed the document.
While this is good news for Jay and his chances of remaining in the United States, it is unclear if it means that they are trying their marriage again.
It is possible that Ashley may just be taking steps to prevent Jay from being deported.
If so, we certainly wish them both luck.
So, what changed between January 11 and January 22?
Well, for one thing, Ashley was found unresponsive at her home and taken to the hospital.
Ashley has lupus, which had brought on kidney failure.
Jay was not shy about rushing to her side, even though they were already living apart at the time.
He purchased a plane ticket and even wrote a tribute to Ashley in a now-deleted post on Instagram.
"I may have hurt you," Jay acknowledged in the post. "I may have not been a good husband."
"Jumping on a plane the second I found out you was in the hospital was something I didn't even think twice to do," he admitted.
"We have our differences," he noted. "But as long as I have life I will never let you sit alone and suffer."
"I love you," he gushed. "And nothing will ever change that."
"Thank you for having me here to support you," Jay concluded.
Ashley and Jay didn't run into marital troubles because they couldn't agree on a thermostat setting.
After months of Ashley's friends worrying that Jay's unabashed horniness would lead him astray ... those fears were realized.
Ashley and Jay had their Vegas wedding, though they'd had a ceremony months earlier in Jamaica for Jay's family.
Jay downloaded Tinder right after the wedding ... and Ashley caught him video chatting with another woman just three days after the nuptials.
Like the rest of the planet, Ashley did not buy Jay's excuse that he thought that Tinder was an app for making friends.
Even so, they were more or less still together for the filming of the Tell All special in November -- which aired in January.
It's unclear whether Ashley reached her breaking point with Jay or was contractually barred from filing for divorce because they were filming 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?
But clearly, something changed.
If she and Jay are going to try again to make it work, we wish them the best of luck.
They certainly have a better shot at happiness than most of their co-stars.
