On last night's American Idol results show, viewers were treated to the past, present and future.

Lazaro Arbos, for example, is now a distant memory, following an unexpected run to the final six.

Candice Glover, Janelle Arthur, Amber Holcomb, Kree Harrison and Angela Miller are the future, competing to see who will be crowned Season 12 champion.

And Kelly Clarkson? Well, she's all three, really. But in the present, she's the shining example of all every contestant wants to be: successful, funny, cool, talented... successful.

Watch as she returned Thursday to the stage that made her famous and performed "People Like Us."

Watch Kelly then prove she belongs with this performance:

Also Sunday night, Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw and Keith Urban teamed up for "Highway Don't Care."

"I refuse to be bullied and I just have to clear up his memory lapses and misinformation for myself and for my fans. It feels like a violation. Growing up is awesome because you learn you don't have to cower to anyone - even Clive Davis."
