This is our favorite supermarket tabloid tradition:

Not only do these celebrity gossip magazines invent sources and articles, they actually use the first person on cover stories to pretend as though the stars themselves have provided interviews and confirmation.

Our favorite example: when OK! Weekly touted Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart as giving readers a tour of "our home." Not a word was actually uttered by either actor in the article itself.

The same applies to the latest issue of this rag, as you can rest assured that neither Taylor Swift nor Taylor Lautner are quoted as saying they're in love.

Let us save you the cover price: the publication has no new information on Taylor Squared. For free, you can read all about their hockey game date and Swift's kind words about Lautner on The Hollywood Gossip.

Let us also save you the trouble of wondering about whether or not Rob and Kristen are "back on track." (They were never off track); or whether Glee stars Lea Michelle and Cory Monteith are dating. (They aren't.)

Also, Khloe Kardashian has no "baby news." There. Aren't you glad THG is around?

Without a certain social networking system on which to rely, Miley Cyrus fans must scour the Internet to read the latest thoughts from their favorite singer.

Fortunately, The Hollywood Gossip is on that case every single day!

Earlier this week, for example, Cyrus appeared on Chicago's B96 morning show and was asked about the rumored relationship between Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner, both of whom she knows. Her response:

"The Taylors? Oh, I don't know. I'm not into the drama. I have no idea. But I've known Taylor [Lautner] since I was really young."

It's true. Cyrus and Lautner actually met prior to the former taking on the character of Hannah Montana.

"When he did [The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl], it was between me and somebody else, and then I ended up doing Hannah Montana, so I've known him for, like, a really long time... if he's happy and if she's happy, sounds good to me."

As for her relationshp with Liam Hemsworth, Miley was silent as usual. That's no fun.

We were already jealous of Taylor Swift for having landed herself a hunk like Taylor Lautner.

But now we really hate the young singer: Lautner claims only Swift will see him topless in the near future.

Okay, he doesn't say that exactly. But the New Moon star is conscious of his reputation and wants to be known for more than just rippling abs, bulging biceps and... we lost our train of thought. Take it away, Taylor...

"I don't want to become known as just a body," he said this week. "If I had to choose, I would never take my shirt off again in a movie, but I guess that's not very realistic. I certainly won't be asking to do it, though."

Thanks for being so selfish, man. Imagine if Levi Johnston took that attitude!

Lautner does have good news for fans, at least: Robert Pattinson gives him some topless competition in New Moon.

"He definitely doesn't need any pointers at all," said Lautner of his co-star's physique. "He's got it covered."

Or not covered, as the case may be. HAWT!

On Sunday, Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner attended a hockey game together.

On Monday, the pair ate dinner with Swift's mom.

And today, the singer pretty much confirmed her burgeoning relationship with Lautner. (Eeeek!!!)

Appearing with CMT Radio's Cody Alan, Swift said she was on "Team Jake" when it came to the classic Twilight Saga debate, and added the following about the male Taylor:

"He's an amazing guy and we're really close... and ah... yep. We're in a movie together and I am really excited about seeing it."

Never has one yep revealed so much.

Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner filmed a movie together. From there, the sparks flew and the clothes came off.

The movie in question (a scene from which is pictured above) is Valentine's Day. It stars a bevy of A-listers, from Julia Roberts to Patrick Dempsey to Jessica Biel.

Swift hasn't watched it in full yet, but hopes she and Lautner will "get to do a private screening because we both wanna see it so bad cause our scene was so much fun to do."

Come on, Taylor. Be honest. Would you actually watch a milisecond of the film if you attended a private screening with this New Moon hunk? We're guessing you and him would find something else fun to do...

... if you know what we mean!!!

It may be too soon to officially dubbed them Taylor Squared, but Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift totally have feelings for one another, reports confirm.

A day after a photo of the pair at a hockey game surfaced, a source told Us Weekly that the young icons "have gotten closer."

"They talk all the time, [and] they like each other," the insider said. "It's been hard with their schedules. They are both young and in the spotlight."

Following the aforementioned game, witnesses spotted Lautner and Swift entering the Beverly Hills hotel. A different kind of entering may have subsequently commenced, as no one saw the pair leave that night!

Added the source:

"They aren’t worried about the media. It's just still very new. They like each other. I don’t even think they know what it is yet. They would be open about it, but they need to figure out what it is first."

In the meantime, we'll talk about it openly. Write in and let us know just how adorable you find this celebrity pairing to be!

In July, we speculated that Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift were a "possible future couple." The pair just looked so happy together on the set of Valentine's Day.

Now, we're prepared to dub this adorable twosome an official item. Here are three reasons why:

1. Their couple nickname would be Taylor Squared. That's amazing.
2. They are both gorgeous and talented.
3. They were spotted (below), side-by-side, last night at a Los Angeles Kings vs. Columbus Blue Jackets game.

If a couple wants to fly under the radar, there are few better places to go than a professional hockey game. The sport doesn't even air games on a major network!

Therefore, we can only presume Taylor and Taylor were trying to keep their relationship a secret, but they can't hide from us. Nor should they.

We haven't been this excited about a pairing since Lautner's co-stars, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, coupled up. Taylor and Taylor 4 eva! Totes!

In a newly-released clip from the Twilight Saga sequel, Taylor Lautner introduces a major scene from the film: Jacob's transformation into a werewolf, as the character comes to Bella's rescue.

While previous New Moon trailers have only showed snippets of scenes from the movie, this is the first extended look at a significant development in it.

We hope and pray the studio doesn't force YouTube to remove the clip, as it will merely build more excitement for the blockbuster. If that's even possible, of course...

As readers of the Twilight Saga novels know, Lautner's Jacob plays a prominent role in New Moon. Even more so than Robert Pattinson's Edward.

Based on the video above, though, we're confident he can pull it off. We can't wait for November 20. Can you?!?

Inside the publication, the actor dishes on his character of Emmett Cullen, describing him as a "juggernaut" and saying:

“Emmett’s a bulldozer, a brute. His strength is, well, his strength. So while Jackson [Rathbone] might be working on his wiry speed and tactics, I’m building up to clothesline the enemy with my bare fist.”
