Candace Cameron Bure is standing up for Justin Bieber.
The singer recently gave an in-depth interview to Complex, talking in part to the magazine about his devotion to Jesus Christ.
But how does this square with the many mistakes Bieber has also made over the years?
“When someone says they’re a Christian, it doesn’t mean they’re perfect," Bure explained to her The View co-panelists this week.
"They are just a recognized sinner in need of God’s grace. And that’s all Justin is saying. He recognizes that.”
Bieber has acknowledged the mishaps that dominated headlines in 2014 and that caused his reputation to take a major hit. He's been trying to make up for them for awhile now, holding special concerts for very special people and taking responsibility for various indiscretions.
"He’s not going to pretend he didn’t do stupid things in the past," Bure added.
"I’m sure he’s gonna make a ton of mistakes from here on out, but he has the chance to make good decisions and we should applaud him and encourage him to continue.”
