You may have thought that, after seeing the new Pepsi commercial with Kendall Jenner, you’d seen all the unbelievably ridiculous ads the world had to offer this week.
And if you did think that, then you’d be wrong. So very, very wrong.
Nivea, the popular beauty brand known for its lotions and moisturizers, released a new ad targeted at its Middle Eastern customers this week.
And you won’t even believe how bad it is.
The ad pictures a woman facing a window, with the words “White is Purity” along the bottom of the photo.
For real.
The image quickly made its way across all of social media, and pretty much everyone is an agreement: this is a racist garbage ad, intentional or not.

The Ad Itself

Someone actually thought this was a good idea. Several people, actually. What a world …
Yeah, Come On

Really, this says it all, right?
Boycott!

Is this company really full of closet racists? It’s hard to say, but it sure is full of questionable choices.
The Real Question

How can so many people be so ignorant?
Overt Racism

Like, this is the world we live in …
Not the First Time …

Horrifically enough, a few years ago Nivea released that ad on the right, the one that showed a man throwing an actual head, complete with an afro, with the words “Re-Civilize Yourself” and “Look Like You Give a Damn.” How did they not learn?!
Short and Sweet

SO dumb.
Speaking of Dumb …

The alt-right is officially embracing Nivea now, it seems. So that’s something.
Straight in the Trash

Anybody foresee a sale on Nivea products in the near future?
Nazi Jokes!

Of course. It was only a matter of time.
Speechless, Indeed

It’s literally an ad that says “White is Purity.” How did this happen?
Just Get It Together, Y’all

Is it really THAT difficult to not make racist ads?
Intolerable …?

Sure, bud, whatever you say.
There’s Always One

Congrats on being a jackass, dude.
Let It Out

All those negative Nivea vibes, just get them right on out of here.
