It’s been three weeks since Jenelle Evans lost custody of her children.
While most parents would have spent that time laser-focused on getting their kids back, Jenelle seems … not terribly concerned.
Evans has been traveling for business and posting on social media as though she doesn’t have a care in the world.
And bizarrely, it seems she’s under the impression that she can convince fans she’s a top-notch mom simply by posting throwback pics of a time when she was still allowed to see her kids for more than an hour a week.
Needless to say, she’s not fooling anyone.
Take a look at Jenelle’s latest efforts:
Simpler Times
Jenelle was never exactly mom of the year material. But now that she’s lost custody of her kids, she’s trying to convince fans that she used to actually care about parenting.
Broken Home
These days, Jenelle’s daughter Ensley and her eldest son Jace are living with their grandmother, Barbara Evans. Her middle child, 4-year-old Kaiser, is living with his father, Nathan Griffith.
A Tense Relationship
Jenelle and Babs have never been besties, but their relationship seemed to improve somewhat over the course of the past year.
Back At It
However, it looks as though the latest developments in Jenelle’s custody situation have these two back at one another’s throats.
On the Mend
Little Ensley is only 2, but she’s already had a rough life. Babs posted some pics of the toddler over the weekend, and many fans gushed that she looks happier and healthier than ever.
The Consensus
As you can see from the response to the pic, many fans believe Ensley is doing much, much better without Jenelle.
Un-Drugged
“Ensley looks happy for once & not drugged,” one fan remarked.
The Theory
Yes, there’s a belief among fans that Jenelle and David frequently medicated Ensley in order to keep her subdued.
Happier, Healthier
Obviously, there’s no solid evidence of that, but the girl does appear more vibrant and energetic under Barbara’s care.
Jenelle’s Hell

Needless to say, Jenelle was less than thrilled by the entire internet praising Babs for rescuing her kids from an abusive nightmare or a home.
The Rebuttal
And so, she responded with a pic of her own — a throwback photo of Ensley from 2017 when she was just a few months old.
Backfire
It seems Jenelle’s goal was to portray herself as a competent and loving mother — but the pic appears to have had the opposite effect.
Sad Reminder
The photo reminded many fans that when Jenelle wants to post a photo of her kids, she has no choice but to rummage through her digital archives.
Displaced
Between them, Jenelle and David have 5 children. They do not currently have custody of any of them,
Quality Time

In fact, their visits with the kids are currently limited to one-hour weekly supervised sessions. Probably not a lot of family photos being snapped during those.
The Downward Spiral
This mess all started, of course, when David shot and killed the family dog, an 11-pound French bulldog named Nugget.
Two Unemployed Parents
Shortly thereafter, Jenelle was fired from Teen Mom 2, leaving her family with zero income. (David was fired from the show last year.)
A False Rock Bottom

Jenelle likely thought that would be her low point — but the situation was soon to get much, much worse.
The Domino Effect
This led to a CPS investigation that caused Jenelle and David to lose custody of the three kids who were living with them at the time.
Enter Babs

For their safety, the kids were sent to the homes of relatives. Jace was already living with Barbara, and Ensley has now been staying with her grandmother for nearly two weeks.
Parents of the Year
Jenelle and David will be back in court this week to find out what steps they need to take in order to regain custody.
Longshot Odds
Of course, even if they do everything right, it might be quite some time before these two are granted custody again.
Changing Their Ways?
Legal experts predict that Jenelle and David will be required to put in some serious effort in if they hope to prove to the court that they’re capable of providing a stable environment for their kids.
Up to the Task?
Among other things, the Easons will likely be asked to clean up their property, surrender their animals, and submit to random drug tests.
Too Much to Ask?
Obviously, most parents would do all those things in a heartbeat if it meant getting their kids back — but Jenelle and David are not most parents.
What Lies Ahead
It remains to be seen if the Easons will do what it takes to win their kids back. And for obvious reasons, many are hoping the children remain where they are currently.
