Season 4 of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? continued on Sunday night, and it was a doozy as expected.
In real time, Larissa Lima's assault trial was last week, and she and Coltee have washed their hands of each other.
But on the show, they were still working through their issues last year. Larissa accuses Colt of being a sex fiend.
Meanwhile, we saw Elizabeth keep trying to get Andrei to swallow his foolish pride and ask her dad for a job.
Paola and Russ, for their part, were worried about the pregnancy after their previous miscarriage.
Nicole gets some terrible news from Azan but insists that she's just disappointed. Not sure if we buy it.
And Ashley comes home to Jay, already wondering if it's a mistake. It was a lot to digest all around.
Let's get into it!
Colt and Larissa
We have to start with these two, because there was SO much to unpack from their relatively short segment.
They're in therapy, finally
Colt laments that he and his wife haven't been intimate for about a month, and hopes to get things back on track. In other words, he's horny and he wants to have sex.
Colt Johnson Selfie
"Between Larissa's trial and telling my mom about her kids, it's really taken a toll on us, especially our physical relationship," Colt explains. "Right now, I'm not having any sex with my wife. The last time I had sex with her was probably a month ago."
Colt loved their sex life
He could not stop singing the praises of Larissa's sexual prowess, comparing it to "the apocalypse, an earthquake, all the fireworks going off."
Larissa feels differently
Apparently, what she first described as Colt having a "good sex drive" got really old, really quickly.
She's not a blow-up doll!
"I think you are a nymphomaniac," Larissa suggests. "It’s not normal for someone make sex like 10 times a day." Notably, the male equivalent of "nymphomania" is sometimes called satyriasis, but even most native English-speakers don't know that word, because sexual desire is more likely to be treated as abnormal in women. But that's an entire other topic.
Larissa has a more serious gripe: respect and trust
She doesn't feel like her respects her personhood and she no longer trusts him. "Colt thinks that the woman needs to please him all the time, and I no longer trust Colt as a human," Larissa says. "And I have no sexual desires, because he called the police against me and I was arrested."
Colt just wants to fix things
But if he wants to have a "normal" sex life again with Larissa, things need to change.
The therapist shares some important wisdom
Colt has been treating his mom Debbie as his "first wife," something that everyone who's ever watched the show already knew. This surrogate relationship makes it difficult for him to bond with Larissa in a healthy way.
So here's what they need to do
The therapist suggests that they try to have fun in the bedroom while also setting firm boundaries with Debbie. This episode also makes it very apparent that the last bit isn't going to work out. That umbilical cord has not been severed.
Speaking of Debbie
Larissa comes back and once again clashes with Debbie over that slot machine. Remember, the only living room furniture that she and Colt had when Larissa arrived?
They're also advised to just move out
The therapist recommends getting their own space. We don't know the ins and outs of Colt's finances, but he has a good job and zero children, unless you count the cats. We think that there's more than his expensive porn habit keeping him from parting ways with his mom.
Elizabeth and Andrei
As we shared in our sneak peek clip last week, Elizabeth confronted Andrei about the fact that he refuses to take real steps towards getting a job.
Andrei has his own, weird plan
It sounds like he wants to be a self-employed handyman. When Elizabeth comes by, he says that he's finishing up an advertisement for his services. It's not clear how convincing that will be, since he has no work history in the US and isn't likely to have any references.
There is an easy solution to this
Elizabeth's dad has already let them live in a house, rent-free. He has already secretly loaned them money behind Andrei's back so that they could move out and rent a new place (to her credit, Elizabeth realized that she should tell her husband this). Andrei could just put on his big boy pants and ask her dad for a job. Some people would give ANYTHING for that kind of guaranteed job opportunity.
Andrei wants to do it on his own
Even though he has done nothing on his own since arriving in the US, his ego is apparently too big to let his father in law become his boss.
Elizabeth is exhausted
She's pregnant, she works a full-time job, and her husband is trying to dabble at a new job every few episodes. Maybe her telling him about her dad giving the money will, in time, be enough to make him realize that he should stop delaying the sensible choice.
Chantel and Pedro
90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? returns for another season, and Chantel and Pedro with it. Will her family ever get along with Pedro?
So ... remember last week?
Pedro was reunited with his old friend Coraima, who is a friend of his sister. Just as Nicole hates Chantel, Coraima has been thirsty for Pedro for a long, long time.
And Pedro didn't seem to mind
Sorry to recap the previous episode, but it's important, because Chantel is still in the US while Pedro is dipping another girl in the Dominican Republic, and she knows that she has to go see him if she wants to save her marriage.
Chantel tells Pedro that she's on her way
Pedro gets upset that she's coming and tells her to stay home, but she's already bought the ticket. Which means that Pedro has to tell his folks.
They do not like Chantel
Thanks primarily to Nicole, the family Pedro (sorry, that's just way funnier than calling them the Jimeno fam) has a strongly negative view of Chantel, and they don't plan to play nice or polite with Chantel.
In fact, they warn Pedro of how they'll treat her
They intend to treat Chantel just as they believe that her family has treated Pedro. And they are adamant that Chantel cannot stay at their home. This won't be a fun visit for Chantel, but we're glad that she's making it -- this indefinite visit to the DR sounds like a trial separation.
Russ and Paola
The Mayfields have a fairly stable relationship these days, so the focus is all about their baby -- and where they'll raise baby Axel when he's born.
Paola has a lot on her mind
She does admit that she feels guilty for admittedly dismissing the idea of living in Oklahoma even though Russ got a job offer.
But they have an important doctor's appointment
As you know, Paola previously suffered a miscarraige. They are both terrified that this pregnancy will end the same way.
Paola is getting a shot to keep her pregnancy healthy
Medical intervention is amazing! Also it's nice that Pao was willing to get this shot even though she has made some worrying statements about how she and Russ may pick and choose which vaccines Axel receives.
Axel Mayfield was born on January 1. He's a beautiful, healthy baby boy. Also, based upon social media activity, they appear to be living in Florida.
Nicole and Azan
Naturally, they have not actually appeared on screen together all season long, causing no end of worry for some fans -- but others, along with Nicole's family, feel relief alongside confusion. But that's why Nicole is planning a meetup with Azan in Grenada.
And that Grenada hookup went just as planned!*
*Just kidding! Literally the day before this big trip, Azan called Nicole. They had a private conversation -- and she didn't even put it on speakerphone.
Even her mom was bewildered
Bobbalee showed up to find that Nicole was vanished. Nicole's family remains in a complicated situation when it comes to trying to support and show concern for Nicole's choices.
It turns out that the Grenada trip was canceled
Nicole had a hot mic-style conversation with a producer, explaining that Azan had a "family emergency" and couldn't make the trip.
So why not say more?
From what Nicole told the producer, Azan doesn't want to reveal exactly what was SO important that he, specifically, couldn't meet with his fiancee. But he apparently feared that the truth would make him "look bad." Yikes.
So is this just a devious scam?
Nicole continues to not want to even entertain those theories, from fans or family or friends. We hope that she'll explain what really went down some day soon.
Last but not least, Ashley and Jay
It was finally time for Ashley to return home from her girls weekend trip to New York.
Jay was not happy that she'd gone
She'd danced and partied, and it was clear that, despite his previous behavior (and future behavior), Jay was afraid that he might lose his beautiful wife.
