Beginning around 2014, Rob Kardashian's self-destructive tendencies became serious cause for concern among his family, friends, and fans.
But when Rob welcomed a daughter with then-girlfriend Blac Chyna, it looked as though he was committed to turning things around.
Unfortunately, it wasn't long before he hit the skids again.
Last we looked, Rob was in a bitter child support dispute with Chyna, who's been highly critical of Rob's abilities as both a father and a human being.
Chyna hasn't always been an ideal mom, but if anyone is justified in roasting Rob it's her.
After all, Rob's revenge porn campaign against her wasn't all that long ago, and it's not the sort of thing one forgets about easily.
Anyway, Rob's not getting any younger, so reports that he's once again feuding with his baby mama, hiding out from the world, and neglecting his health have been met with severe consternation.
Insiders claimed there was a time when Rob's family even feared for his life.
Fortunately, it seems Rob has decided to address those concerns by turning things around.
According to a new report from Radar Online, the father of one is “determined to take back the throne" by getting back in shape both physically and financially.
“Dream has given Rob a new lease on life and he really wants to live to see his daughter grow up,” a source close to the situation tells Radar Online.
“Rob has quit drinking and partying and he has let go of his bitter resentment against all of his family members," the insider says.
"He figured if he can’t beat his sisters, then he should join them.”
Yes, it seems Rob is taking a page from his sisters' playbook by pitching a reality show and launching his own clothing line.
His Keeping Up With the Kardashians spinoff remains untitled, but the name of the clothing line might be a nod to how close Rob came to the brink.
He's reportedly decided to name the brand Halfway Dead.
“Rob is doing this for himself now and not for Chyna, or for anyone else," says the source.
"He is ready to regain control of his life and is only going up from here."
Indeed, it seems Rob is holding himself accountable by making his goals public.
He tweeted the above photo this week, along with a caption reading, “Day 1 all good.”
Rob has certainly made some colossal mistakes over the years, and we don't know that he really ever sat atop "the throne," necessarily.
But we congratulate him on getting his life back in order and inching back to where he began.
