Nayvadius DeMun Wilburn may go by the name Future for his rap career, but it's very clear this artist lives in the long-ago past.
On an Apple Music radio show late last week, the star went off on Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who also happens to be married to Future's ex, Ciara.
The signal-caller's major crime, according to Future?
He's doing a terrible job controlling his wife.
“He do exactly what she tell him to do,” said Future, who split from Ciara in August of 2014 amid rumors that he had cheated on her. “I feel like … I don’t have no feelings.”
Future's main beef with Wilson centers on how often Ciara has slammed her former significant other online.
The rapper might blame Ciara a little bit for these public barbs, but he mostly thinks Wilson is responsible for failing to put his foot down in his marriage.
"He not being a man in that position,” Future explained in this interview.
“You not tellin’ her, ‘Bro, chill out with that on the internet. Don’t even talk to him. I’m your husband! You better not even bring Future’s name up!"
Future, who has six baby mamas and maybe wants one of them dead, said there's no way any woman he's with would act the way Ciara has been acting.
"If that was me, she couldn’t even bring his name up. She’d know that.
“She couldn’t even bring her exes’ names up. Don’t give that sh-t no energy. It’s about me. I’m taking care of everything."
Harsh and totally misogynistic words, but it doesn't appear as if they're bothering Ciara or Wilson very much.
On Sunday, the singer shared a photo of herself standing tall on Instagram, including with it a very straightforward caption that read: Rise Above.
Around this same time, Wilson posted a picture of the couple’s daughter, Sienna, kissing her smiling big brother, Future Jr., 4, who Ciara shares with her ex.
“All that matters. #Love,” Wilson wrote as a caption.
The NFL All-Pro marred Ciara in July of 2016.
The stars famously waited to have sex until after they were husband and wife.
Ciara also filed a $15 million defamation and slander lawsuit (which she later dropped) against Future in February of 2016 after he called out her relationship with Wilson during various interviews and in Twitter rants.
A few months later he appeared to threaten the footballer in the O.J. Simpson-inspired song “Juice."
Moreover, fans think he called his ex a bitch in another single he released in September that year.
Despite this history and this new diss of Wilson, however, Ciara told People Magazine in late December that she and her husband are psyched for the year ahead.
“Russ and I always like to have the conversations and reflect on our years in general, whether it’s what we’ve done individually, but also together and how we can keep on leveling up our love,” she said at the time, adding:
"We’ve been able to add some more date nights in the mix and that’s been really fun, so I think in 2019 we’re gonna level up the date nights and add some more to the mix as much as we can, especially with our schedules always moving."
