The question of whether Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo are moving too fast has been on the minds of Counting On fans for several months now.
And it's certainly not hard to see why.
After all, Jinger and Jeremy got engaged just a few weeks after we first learned that they were "courting."
(Which is simply the Duggars name for their particular brand of chaste, televised dating.)
The couple began their relationship between seasons 1 and 2 of Counting On, but now reality television is finally beginning to catch up with reality.
This week's episode saw Jeremy packing Jinger's ring in his luggage with the intention of proposing during their travels together.
The show teased that we'll see him actually pop the question on next week's installment.
The biggest roadblock to their happiness, of course, has been the fact that Jinger's domineering father, Jim Bob Duggar, seems to only grudgingly approve of Jeremy.
But his concerns seem to have only brought the couple closer.
Now, Us Weekly has asked relationship expert Rhonda Richards-Smith to analyze footage of Jinger and Jeremy's time together and assess their compatibility.
While Richards-Smith concurs with the fan consensus that the couple is moving inadvisably fast, she says their bond is closer than one might expect from two young people have been forbidden to engage in virtually all forms of physical contact.
"Jinger and Jeremy seem to have a very strong physical connection, despite their courtship restrictions," Richards-Smith says.
"By putting his arm around Jinger, Jeremy created a visual and physical boundary between the couple and Jinger's parents, asserting himself as the primary male in her life."
Says Richards-Smith says Jim Bob has officially taken a backseat to Jeremy as the most important man in Jinger's life.
"Jeremy appears to be taking Jim Bob's skepticism in stride and is handling himself well, given the situation," she tells Us.
She adds that if Jim Bob has a problem with Jinger choosing her fiance over her father, he has no one to blame but himself for creating such a tense situation.
That said, Richards-Smith believes that since both parties are okay with the strict rules imposed by Jinger's parents, there shouldn't be much of a problem.
"The kinds of restrictions that Jinger and Jeremy adhere to can affect their relationship negatively if they are not equally committed to them," Richards-Smith says.
"Restrictions imposed by individuals outside of the relationship [can sometimes] lead to negative consequences over the long haul."
At the end of the day, Richards-Smith believes that Jinger and Jeremy are a good match - though she wishes they'd pump the brakes just a bit.
"By taking the time to reflect on their own hopes and dreams for the future, they can better determine whether this is truly a match made in heaven," she says.
No time for that!
These two are probably picking out "J" names for their litter of kids as we speak!
