Dancing With the Stars bid farewell to not one, but two more celebrities (term used loosely) in the first double elimination of the season.
Who would live to tango another week, and who would follow the two-left-footed likes of Geraldo, Marla, Mischa and Doug out the door?
Not Ginger Zee, who earned the very first perfect score of Season 22 with a stirring performance set to Whitney Houston‘s “I Have Nothing.”
Not Jodie Sweetin, who channeled Stevie Wonder in a Quickstep that didn’t blow the judges away, but showed a lot of guts on her part.
After Jodie Sweetin was injured and hospitalized during rehearsals and commented her “body was breaking down,” it was quite an effort.
After Nyle DiMarco got cocky last week following his ongoing feud with the cast, he was down in the dumps during rehearsals this time out.
Fortunately, partner Peta Murgatroyd tried to cheer him up, and once again, they rose to the top of their game – and the DWTS scoreboard.
The episode honored some of music’s biggest names on “Icons Night” including the likes of U2, Elvis Presley, the Rolling Stones and Aretha Franklin.
They all can’t be icons, however, on DWTS.
Unfortunately, not one but two contestants had to go, and Kim Fields and Von Miller were the unlucky contestants eliminated Monday.
Denver Broncos linebacker and Super Bowl champion Miller was in jeopardy last week, and could not climb out of the bottom tier last night.
Despite her best round of the season, Fields found it was too little too late as the judges, and voters, decided her time had come as well.
The scores from Monday’s installment:
- Ginger Zee and Val Chmerkovskiy: 30/30
- Paige VanZant and Mark Ballas: 30/30
- Nyle DiMarco and Peta Murgatroyd: 29/30
- Kim Fields and Sasha Farber: 27/30
- Wanya Morris and Lindsay Arnold: 27/30
- Jodie Sweetin and Keo Motsepe: 26/30
- Von Miller and Witney Carson: 24/30
- Antonio Brown and Sharna Burgess: 24/30
And for the team performances …
- Team James Brown: 28/30
- Team James Beyonce: 25/30
