This has been the worst PR week in the history of the National Football League.

Star Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has basically admitted to child abuse. Ray Rice knocked out then-fianee Janay Palmer with a punch, shedding light on other domestic violence cases in the NFL and the league's lax policy when it comes to alleged offenders.

It's been a nightmare for (awful) Commissioner Roger Goodell, but it's also just been a couple new examples of a sad trend: athletes in trouble with the law, with their wives or just with the public in general.

From performance-enhancing drug use... to the banging of so many cocktail waitresses... to one of the most heinous acts and most despicable individuals imaginable, we rundown 14 scandals below that made us ashamed to cheer on our favorite teams or athletes:

LIAR!
Lance Armstrong denied it and denied it, but he eventually came clean: yes, he cheated to win every Tour de France.

According to our favorite tabloid story ever, O.J. Simpson may or may not be Khloe Kardashian's real father.

But, according to what is probably our second favorite tabloid story ever, The Juice is definitely obsessed with Kim Kardashian!

"He has several sexy pictures of Kim hanging up in his prison cell from her 2007 Playboy shot and he isn’t shy about showing her picture to fellow inmates,” an insider tells Radar Online.

Simpson, of course, is serving a 33-year sentence at Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada for a 2008 robbery and kidnapping conviction.

He also almost definitely killed two people in 1994.

O.J. Simpson's longtime associate and former manager Norman Pardo says the disgraced NFL star got a raw deal, particularly involving If I Did It.

He spoke out again Tuesday, on the 20th anniversary of Simpson's infamous arrest for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.

Pardo claims O.J. didn't write the controversial book If I Did It, the 2006 tome which explores how Simpson would've hypothetically probably killed people.

If he did it, that is. If.

Personally, we feel that this alternate title and cover (above right) would have been more appropriate under the circumstances, but alas, we digress.

According to Pardo, Simpson agreed to claim authorship of If I Did It after being promised a $600,000 payout by NewsCorp and its subsidiary ReganBooks.

"I remember when that book was coming out. O.J. called me. He said, 'Here's the deal,' because it was in the news that he was going to do an interview."

"I said, 'O.J., don't do it, it's stupid.' He said, 'Hey, they offered me $600,000 not to dispute that I [wrote] the book.' He said, 'That's cash.'"

With the 20th anniversary of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman‘s murder upon us this week, alleged killer O.J. Simpson is back in the public eye.

Fortunately, he's locked up in a Nevada prison on kidnapping and robbery charges, because obviously that was a thing he also did a few years ago.

He's all over the news in any case, with his victim's family still confident he's a killer and asserting that Robert Kardashian hid evidence for him.

As for his side of the story (besides If I Did It)? Simpson's manager Norman Pardo has put together a documentary titled O.J.: In His Own Words.

“I built an O.J. special for the 20th anniversary, which was professionally put together using my footage,” Pardo says, "so people can see who O.J. really is.”

Featuring interviews, archival footage and 911 transcripts, Pardo says the film contains “interesting footage that no one’s ever seen before." Such as?

Twenty years ago today, Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman were murdered in Brentwood, Calif., allegedly by her former husband O.J. Simpson.

Tried but acquitted after a murder case that consumed the nation, O.J. was later found liable in a wrongful death lawsuit and is universally reviled today.

Wasting away in prison on unrelated kidnapping and robbery charges, he'll be spared media coverage of the 20th anniversary of the day he likely killed people.

While the (cough, alleged) double murder and sensational story it became are unique, he's far from alone in terms of having (purportedly) taken a life.

O.J. Simpson
O.J. Simpson was arrested for the murder of his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ronald Goldman, leading to the trial of the century in 1994-95.

Some celebrities were actually convicted of such acts. Others who killed people - maybe killed people - beat the rap. Others received plea deals.

Our list of 15 stars who may have killed people, starting with O.J. (who may have been aided by Robert Kardashian hiding evidence), may surprise you.

Click through the above gallery and see which celebs you knew about and which come as total shocks. Then be glad O.J. is at least locked up for something.

Fred Goldman, the father of the man O.J. Simpson was accused of killing, says Robert Kardashian likely hid evidence that would have convicted him.

In an interview with The Mail (UK), the father of Ron Goldman said Kardashian took a bag of crucial evidence from Simpson's house on June 13, 2014.

That was the day after his son and Simpson's ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson were slain. Tomorrow, June 12, is the 20th anniversary of the double murder.

Kardashian was indeed seen leaving Simpson's Los Angeles home carrying a suitcase the day after the fatal stabbings, the New York Times reported.

"That evidence would have convicted 'the killer,'" Goldman, who refuses to call Simpson by name and has been convinced of his guilt for two decades, said.

Robert Kardashian, the father of Kim Kardashian, was a confidant of Simpson's and was one of his defense attorneys at his historic 1994 murder trial.

Was Kim Kardashian‘s father (and confidante of accused killer O.J. Simpson) Robert Kardashian Sr. involved in a cover up? Kim Goldman is implying just that.

Kim is the sister of Ron Goldman, the friend of Nicole Brown Simpson who was slain with her in 1994. O.J. was charged and tried, but found not guilty.

Many people (okay, almost everybody) think he did it, however; a wrongful death civil lawsuit found him liable for more than $33 million, in fact.

One of the reasons O.J. walked in the criminal case? The murder weapon was never found. Kim Goldman addresses that very fact in a new interview.

O.J. Simpson, Robert Kardashian

Kim Kardashian's father was spotted by television cameras taking a Louis Vuitton garment bag out of his mansion the day after the murders took place.

Some trial watchers speculated that the bag could have contained a Simpson murder weapon, and other physical evidence that never saw the light of day.

Kim Goldman tells Radar that the Kardashian family patriarch “absolutely could have gotten rid of the murder weapon" and it would not even surprise her.

It's our favorite rumor on the Internet, and it's resurfaced once again thanks to In Touch Weekly:

Might O.J. Simpson be Khloe Kardashian's biological father?!?

This hilarious paternity question was first raised in January 2012 by The National Enquirer and now Simpson's manager, Norman Pardo, is telling In Touch that anything is possible.

The Juice totally could have knocked up Kris Jenner!

OJ as Khloe Kardashian's Father?

After all, Prado is certain Jenner "slept with" Simpson and says the truth is "going to come out sooner or later." And what truth is that, exactly?

For disgraced NFL great O.J. Simpson, that's just how the cookie crumbles. When you get caught stealing them from the prison cafeteria, that is.

The Juice was caught with not one, not two, but a dozen oatmeal cookies pilfered from the correctional facility he calls home, a new report says.

Simpson, who's serving a 33-year sentence for armed robbery at Lovelock Correctional Center in Pershing County, Nev., ganked them after lunch.

He may have gotten away with his unusually non-violent offense but for an inquisitive guard who noticed O.J. hiding something under his prison clothes.

When the corrections officer questioned O.J., he allegedly confessed. For once.

O.J. Simpson won a small victory Wednesday as the State of Nevada granted him parole on some of his 2008 convictions for kidnapping and armed robbery.

The decision doesn't mean O.J. will be leaving prison anytime soon, though.

O.J. Simpson at Parole Hearing

The Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners released its decision in favor of Simpson's parole request on Wednesday. It becomes effective October 2.

Commissioners noted Simpson's "positive institutional record" and participation in programs addressing "behavior that led to incarceration."

He was convicted on many charges and still faces at least four more years behind bars based on sentences that were ordered to run consecutively.
