Jamie Lynn Spears, who has been more or less of the spotlight since getting pregnant at age 16, turns 22 today. Yes ... her daughter is about to turn five.

The sister of Britney Spears welcomed baby Maddie in June 2008, and since then, she's kept a low profile, opting to focus on motherhood and herself.

We applaud that. We also congratulate her on her recent engagement to Jamie Watson! She was previously engaged to her baby daddy, Casey Aldridge.

This is a step up. Dude didn't strike us as an upstanding, committed type of guy. Casey that is. We don't know him personally, but that was our gut feeling.

Either way, Jamie Lynn Spears is thriving these days, and we couldn't be happier. Join us in wishing her a happy 22nd birthday, and tell us, out of curiosity ...

Jamie Lynn Spears, her fiance Jamie Watson, Britney Spears, her two sons and the sisters' mother, Lynne, attended Easter services in Amite, La., on Sunday.

Wearing a long patterned dress, Britney was photographed exiting the church along with Jamie Lynn and Jamie (the Spears girls' dad is also Jamie):

On Sunday evening, the pop star, 31, posted a message to her Facebook page, along with a photo of one of her dogs, wishing fans a happy holiday.

"Happy Easter," she wrote. "Blessed to be spending the day with my family back home (... missing my little Hannah though, she doesn't like to fly.)"

Absent from the Spears family Easter celebration? Britney's new boyfriend, David Lucado. Jamie Lynn, 21, recently got engaged for the second time.

Jamie Lynn Spears got engaged over the weekend.

Sister Britney is, as you'd probably expect, so pumped for her. A lot more excited than when Jamie Lynn and Casey Aldridge were engaged, most likely.

We didn't think we'd see Jamie Lynn Spears engaged again by age 21, but she and Jamie Watson, 30, have been together for three years already.

They seem very content, grounded and happy.

Britney Spears certainly thinks so, gushing on Twitter: "So excited and happy for my sister. Congrats @jamielynnspears - love you so much."

Jamie Lynn Spears is engaged! To Jamie Watson, her boyfriend of about three years now! Get ready for another Spears weddin' y'all! Ding dang!

The 21-year-old confirmed the surprising news yesterday with an Instagram picture of her and Watson hugging while flashing her ring finger.

The caption: "Guesssss what??????"

This will be the first marriage for Jamie Lynn Spears, who was previously engaged to Casey Aldridge, the father of her four-year-old daughter Maddie.

Jamie Lynn split with Aldridge in 2010.

Britney Spears, meanwhile, recently parted with fiance Jason Trawick and is now dating David Lucado, a totally random but very nice-seeming fella.

Britney and Jamie Lynn were accompanied by Britney's two sons Preston,7 and Jayden, 6.

The X Factor judge and her younger sis looked relaxed and happy as they exited with a cart full of purchases.

Britney Spears' little sister Jamie Lynn Spears took the stage at an intimate showcase held at 3rd and Lindsley Bar & Grill on Thursday in Nashville.

Yes, Jamie Lynn Spears is singing live, and acoustically.

“I’m so happy to have all of you here, thank you for coming out tonight,” the 21-year-old mother of Maddie Briann Aldridge told the audience.

Jamie performed a new song titled “I Look Up To You” that may have been written with big sis Britney Spears in mind ... at least it  seems that way.

“It all happened way too soon, They took away your innocence,” Jamie sings, in reference to ... who knows. But it's good to see her again, right?

Britney Spears' little sister Jamie Lynn is enjoying motherhood.

Over the weekend, the 21-year-old tweeted some adorable pics of herself and 3-year-old daughter Maddie Briann having fun by the pool.

Here is one of the aforementioned images:

"#littlegirls #littlemoments" the former Zoey 101 star wrote, linking to a shot of herself and Maddie enjoying the sun in pink bikinis.

And while Jamie Lynn was only 17 when she and then-boyfriend Casey Aldridge welcomed their little girl, she has no regrets about it.

"Casey was my first love. Since the day I saw him, I just wanted to marry him and be with him forever and ever," she told Glamour.

"I truly believe in safety and birth control as prevention. But like many young girls... I was really scared to go to the doctor."

"I did feel responsible for the young girls and the mothers who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that."

"But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy," Jamie Lynn Spears added. "I hated when [celebrity news tabloids] said that. Everybody is dealt a hand of cards. It was my choice to play them the way I played them. The hateful comments hurt."

In a new interview, Jamie Lynn Spears defends, offers praise for, and stands in solidarity with the stars of MTV's Teen Mom. She can definitely relate.

Britney Spears' younger sister, who was 16 and pregnant herself at one point, opens up about motherhood and the show in the new issue of Glamour.

"When I saw MTV's Teen Mom was coming out, I remember thinking, Oh my God, I cannot wait to see this, there's someone else out there," she says.

"I mean, I feel for those girls. I've been that girl. Motherhood is hard. It takes bravery to be a young mom, and takes bravery to let the world watch."

She's such a fan, in fact, Spears even recently reached out to one of the stars of Teen Mom 2, Chelsea Houska, over Twitter to set up a play date.

Maybe they'll meet in the middle between Mississippi and South Dakota?

Spears also talked about Casey Aldridge, her ex-fiance and the father of Maddie Briann, and how they tried to make it work, only to fall short.
