Chaz Bono is looking darn good these days, having recently shed a whopping 60 pounds.

But does the former Dancing with the Stars contestant credit some new Paleo recipes? Any fresh diet trend? Nope. It's a lot simpler than that, he says.

"I've just changed the way I eat," Bono tells E! News. "Diets don't work. You just have to change what you eat, and I have."

Dancing With the Stars alumnus Chaz Bono is saving up the money to make his gender transformation that much more official. Yes, we're talking about a penis transplant.

Chaz tells Rolling Stone that he will pursue a metoidioplasty.

If you haven't stopped reading yet, he describes this as "a procedure that uses what you already have down there... which has grown larger from the testosterone."

Chaz will be trying out the new equipment on someone other than Jennifer Ella, who he just broke up with after a long-term relationship in which he changed genders.

He opted for the metoidioplasty for the following reasons:

"You end up with a smaller phallus than with the phalloplasty (another similar type of procedure), but it's fully functional, it gets erect, and the sensation is all there."

The procedure will cost him between $25,000-$45,000.

You cannot put a price on manhood, however.

When Chaz Bono and Jennifer Elia broke up last week, the pair claimed they left their long partnership with "great love, respect and affection toward one another."

That statement belies the tumult between the pair, one report says.

According to Star, there's a sordid secret behind the collapse of this 12-year relationship: Jennifer betrayed Chaz in a major way by cozying up to his ex Heidi Shink.

Chaz Bono, Jennifer Elia

Jennifer was a guest at a private party hosted by Chaz's ex-girlfriend Heidi Shink at her L.A. home in mid-November, according to alleged insiders.

"There was a ton of wine and food," Viktor Budnik, who attended the party, says in an exclusive interview, adding "They were doing wine pairings."

Wow. That alone sounds super-scandalous right there.

Chaz was nowhere to be seen. As the party got increasingly boozy, people started taking intimate photos that Heidi later posted on her Facebook page.

One shot of Jennifer and her party guests is captioned "La familia!" In another shot, Jennifer is pictured inappropriately clad in pajamas with wet hair.

There you have it. We're sorry, it's a slow news week.

Chaz Bono and his Jennifer Elia, his fiancee, have broken up.

The couple have called off their engagement and "are no longer a couple," a rep for Bono confirms. Howard Bragman, Chaz's publicist, said the following:

"Chaz Bono and Jennifer Ella leave this relationship mutually and with great love, respect and affection toward one another. No further amplification will be forthcoming and they ask that you respect their privacy at this time."

Chaz Bono and Jennifer Ella

Jennifer Ella and Chaz Bono got engaged earlier this year, but were a couple since 1999, long before he underwent gender reassignment surgery to become a man.

Chaz, who enjoyed a nice run on Dancing With the Stars this fall despite a firestorm of controversy, popped the question on his reality show Being Chaz.

We wish both of them the best in this difficult, emotional time.

Former Dancing with the Stars contender Chaz Bono isn't fading from the reality TV sunset just yet. He's starring on his own show premiering tomorrow night!

That's right, Cher's son is letting the cameras in on his life again for Oprah Winfrey's OWN series Being Chaz. The big event scheduled to air on the premiere?

His proposal to longtime girlfriend (and now fiancee) Jennifer Elia!

Jennifer Ella, Chaz Bono

According to People, Chaz proposes in a "special" way by not overtly popping the question, but rather prefacing the big moment as a "birthday present."

Jennifer Ella's reaction to the ring is almost speechless: "Wow. It's gorgeous. Thank you so much, it's stunning. It's huge!" Followed by "heavy sh!t man!"

The series, which premieres Sunday, follows the Emmy-nominated Becoming Chaz, the documentary detailing Chaz's transition from woman to man.

The reality show will feature everything from the proposal, to Chaz Bono's preparation for Dancing with the Stars, and more. Are you excited to see it?

Chaz Bono's media appearances and stint on Dancing with the Stars won over many people this fall. The transgendered son of Warren Beatty is not one of them, though.

Stephen Ira, who was born a girl named Kathlyn, is 19, and is the child of Beatty and Annette Bening. He writes a blog titled Super Mattachine. Why's he mad at Chaz?

Because Bono told the New York Times that being transgendered is essentially having a “mismatched” brain and body, akin to a “birth defect like a cleft palate.”

"I do not have a birth defect. If you feel you have a birth defect, fine. That’s how you feel. Go feel that,” Stephen wrote. “Do not put it onto me. Do not define me."

"Do not define other trans people that way unless they claim that label. It goes beyond that, though," Ira continues. "Chaz Bono is a misogynist."

"He is a trans man who seems to believe that his female-assignedness and socialization makes him immune from being a misogynist, and he is manifestly wrong."

He adds, "This man doesn’t represent our community. The next time you hear Chaz’s name brought up in a conversation about transgender issues, point out the things he says about surgery, ‘birth defects,’ and women.

“Because I don’t want a single person thinking this guy is the best of us."

Fun fact: Chaz's mother Cher dated Warren Beatty back in 1962!

Will Chaz Bono die young because he became a man?

That's the implication of a story in the National Enquirer. One that has him threatening to sue, claiming the article is a "smear campaign" and "blatantly false."

The "story" is plastered right on cover of the November 11 issue with a headline that screams, "Chaz Bono: ONLY 4 YEARS TO LIVE." Pretty overt, and awful.

The article cites "expert" opinions about Chaz's weight, stress and medication linked with gender reassignment, concluding he'll likely kick it by 2015.

Chaz Bono Will Die

The Dancing With the Stars cast member, understandably, is royally pissed, and has fired off a letter demanding a retraction and apology for this ASAP.

In the letter, Chaz's lawyer calls the story, "blatantly false and defamatory," not to mention "salacious and inflammatory," and "crafted for the malicious purpose of discriminating against our client's gender and sexual orientation."

Enraged over the "misleading and blatantly false" medical "opinions," his lawyer says if the tabloid does not retract the story pronto, Chaz Bono will sue.

Your move, Enquirer.

Chaz Bono had a heck of a run on Dancing With the Stars.

Lasting six weeks in spite of the fact that he really can't dance very well, Cher's son showed a lot of courage in the face of adversity and succeeded in being the "different kind of man" he wished he'd had as a role model growing up.

So what's next for the transgendered star?

Chaz Smiles

Bono's rep/manager, Howard Bragman, says he took no meetings during DWTS, but is getting together this week to plot out a strategy for the next chapter.

Bragman says he expects plenty of opportunities for Chaz.

Acting, voice-over work, and endorsements will all be on the table, and the longtime advocate of LGBT causes will continue to book speaking engagements.

As for whether he'd be into continuing his dancing career, Bragman claims Chaz Bono is "open to all reasonable discussions." Hey, if the price is right ...

Chaz Bono did not leave Dancing With the Stars on the best of terms.

He and partner Lacey Schwimmer were fired up after their performance this week, with the usually reserved duo saying the judges' comments were "disrespectful."

They weren't complaining about the scoring that left them in last, but in particular to the way Bruno Tonioli compared Bono to a cute, fluffy penguin in his critique.

But after Chaz Bono's elimination became official, he gave a really nice farewell speech, and it seemed he and Schwimmer had put any hard feelings behind them.

Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer Pic

"I was quite angry," Bono, 42, said. "But I feel really good today. I'm not leaving the show bitter or angry. I'm grateful for Lacey and everybody I worked with on the show. It was a wonderful, life-changing experience. I'm so glad I did it."

Some people suspected World Cup soccer star Hope Solo could have been voted off based on her low score on Monday night and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy's outburst at Len Goodman - but not Bono and Schwimmer.

"After the judges' comments and the scores last night, it was kind of no question [it would be us]," Schwimmer said. "It was almost as if they set it up."

Justified or not, Chaz is watching from the sidelines now, but he lasted six strong weeks, five longer than a lot of people (including himself) expected.

What do you think: Should he have been voted off?

After a tense week on Dancing With the Stars that saw Maksim Chmerkovskiy call out Len Goodman and raise new questions of favoritism, who got the chop Tuesday?

With J.R. Martinez and Ricki Lake sitting pretty at 29 points, the other five dancers were pretty much all in jeopardy heading into the dreaded DWTS results show.

Last night saw Maksim Chmerkovskiy man up and apologize for his comments Monday, but would that be enough to save his partner Hope Solo from elimination?

  • Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy
  • Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer
  • Nancy Grace and Tristan MacManus

Was last night the end of the line for Hope, Chaz or Nancy?

Of the top seven celebrities remaining, J.R., Ricki, David Arquette and Rob Kardashian were safe, with one of the three couples now watching from the sidelines.

Chaz Bono had the lowest score of the week, with Hope not far behind. Did one of them get the heave-ho, or did the slowly-improving Nancy Grace fall from it?
