So hey, how fun is this new season of Teen Mom OG?!
We're finally getting to see Amber Portwood realize how awful Matt Baier has always been, and it's nice to see Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra come into their own as business owners.
But it's truly been just the biggest pleasure to see more of Mackenzie Standifer. Because the girl is wild.
Ryan Edwards' new wife is bringing some delightful drama to the show, and she's been so bizarre and delusional and unintentionally hilarious since she's been on the scene.
Right now though, she's really outdoing herself with a new, sassy little entry she just posted on her blog ...
Oh, Mackenzie ...
Mackenzie hasn't been on Teen Mom OG all that long -- after all, it's barely been a year since she began dating Ryan Edwards. But in the short time she's been on the show, she's really made her mark.
At first, many viewers thought this girl would be good for Ryan. She's so young, but she seems much older, and lots of people thought she had her life together. Those people were wrong.
As we saw more of her on the show, it started getting weird how she'd never say anything about his increasinly bizarre behavior. Then, on the last season finale, she went and made herself into the biggest Teen Mom villain since Matt Baier.
A Wedding to Remember
While driving to their wedding, Ryan began nodding off behind the wheel. Instead of instructing him to pull over, Mackenzie helped him steer, and then she concerned herself with disabling the cameras in the car while asking him if he'd been taking Xanax again. She seemed angry at him instead of concerned, and then after all that she went ahead and married him in that parking lot while his mother sobbed through the ceremony.
Digging the Hole Deeper
As if all that wasn't bad enough, she went on to make a fool out of herself at the reunion show. She blamed Maci Bookout for Ryan's drug use, and she actually claimed that she had no idea that he'd been using drugs until that fateful drive to the wedding. Yep, this girl is remarkably unlikable.
The current season picked up at the reunion, and we got to see Amber call Mackenzie a "f-cking c-nt," which was cute. We're also seeing Ryan fresh out of rehab, and it's been interesting, to say the least. Mostly because Mackenzie has just been the absolute worst.
But it turns out that you can't trust what you see on TV! And good ol' Mack is going to spell it all out for you.
In a new blog entry she titled "Dear World," this girl got way into her feelings in the most embarrassing way. "What’s it like being on TV you may ask?" she wrote. "Must be so glamorous, right? Let’s start from here. This is a very, very lonely life. It takes you to dark places and it forces you to find yourself and to define what you’re made of. It’s about showing the world the 'story' while knowingly opening yourself up to hatred and vile comments at your expense."
"Whatever you do, it’s broadcasted," she continued. "Whatever mistakes you make, they’re broadcasted. Your ups, downs, and in betweens, broadcasted. The best day of your life along with the very worst day possible.....broadcasted. But that’s what you sign up for, right? That’s what you’re supposed to expect when you do this kind of thing, right?"
When you think about it, it's actually pretty impressive that she was able to type all of that out with that great big chip on her shoulder. Seriously, has anyone in the history of the world ever had it as bad as Mackenzie?
"I think it’s commonly forgotten that behind screens, we are real people," she explained. "Real people with real attitudes. We have real emotions, real families, real hurts, real love, real opinions." And we get that, we really do, it's just that her attitude and her opinions, while real, are just very wrong.
She said that "another common misconception" is that "what is shown is what is 110% true. Its easy to believe that, but it’s not right. It’s easy to show the 'half truth' and portray it as whole. But that’s ok because regardless of what happens, whether right or wrong, you’re considered scum." ... But like, she kind of is?
A REAL Teen Mom
She then said that she didn't agree to be on the show "for 15 mins of fame," she did it "so y’all have an ACCURATE depiction of what it’s like to be a teen mother. I do this so that it’s documented that just because you and your 'baby daddy' don’t get along, you can make it work. (P.s. they aren’t Satan, they’re real kids with real feelings.... I know. Imagine that, you’re not the only one going through tough sh-t. You both are. Differently.)"
No One Cares
That's an especially weird part, because nobody really cares about her history of teen motherhood. We've been watching these four girls for years now as they transitioned from teen moms -- real, struggling teen moms -- to reality stars. They're the ones we care about, we don't really need Mackenzie. But since she is there, isn't it odd that she didn't just say that she's on the show to support Ryan? Wouldn't that make more sense?
Make It Stop
"Theres a lot of things I’d like to do for a living," she went on, "lots of dreams that still sparkle when I close my eyes at night... These things are still attainable but are dimmed by a clouded mind full of empty words of hatred and lies from people I’ve never even met and from some I know well." Is she for real with this?
"So many times you think of quitting, forgetting everything, dropping the torch but then there’s that quiet voice in your heart. You remember 'that girl' who needed hope and encouragement and to know that she was going to be fine. That girl who was alone and trying to figure out how life works with a baby on her hip, dirty scrubs on her tired body, a shit ton of bills to pay in her back pocket and a backpack full of books for college on her back... you remember because 'that girl,' was you. You can easily forget where you came from but from this experience you never forget WHAT. YOU. ARE. MADE. OF. "
... Why Though?
Luckily Mackenzie gave us all permission to "Go ahead, hate me and what you think you know about me, my family and my decisions. But never forget that we are all humans out here trying to figure out life. And it’s times like this that I remember what 'that girl' is made of. And believe me, she has a lot of fight left in her."
The End, Finally
She finished her long, insane post with "So to 'that girl' who needs this message, keep going. Don’t give up. You can do this. Education is important, so get one. Life is hard, but you are harder, stronger and at times, smarter. Don’t let your dreams flicker in the background Go get them."
For real though, what's wrong with Mackenzie? Does she seriously think that she's some inspiration to other women because of her work on Teen Mom? It's obvious that she thinks MTV has wronged her somehow with their edits, but it's also obvious that she's possibly the most delusional person to ever appear on Teen Mom. And if you've ever watched the tiniest little bit of this show, you know that's saying a lot.
