Following years of bigotry, abusive behavior, and pathological dishonesty, there's certainly a debate to be had over whether or not Jenelle Evans deserves a happy ending.
But regardless of whether she's worthy of it, it seems Jenelle found her bliss when she fled to Nashville and filed for divorce from David Eason.
Evans has vowed to steer clear of social media in the months leading up to her first divorce hearing (likely at the behest of her lawyers).
But she just couldn't resist taking to Twitter to tell fans how blissfully happy she is this week.
Take a look:
Jenelle Evans says she's happier than she's ever been. Like just about everything Jenelle does, that revelation drew a mixed response on social media.
Shouting It From the Rooftops
Yes, Jenelle wants the whole world to know that her life has improved dramatically in the 7 weeks since she left David.
"I just want to tell everyone, I am sooooo happy with life right now," Evans tweeted.
Love and Support
"Everything is perfect... My support system is so big now, it's crazy," she added.
It's anyone's guess who belongs to that support network, but it's worth noting that Jenelle has mended her relationships with Nathan Griffith and Barbara Evans in recent weeks.
A Repeated Pattern
As Evans' social media followers know, the former Teen Mom 2 star has spent a lot of time talking about how gloriously happy she is in recent weeks.
Telling Her Story
"My journey WILL continue to be shared," she wrote on her Instagram Story last week. "No matter what happens. Thanks for all your support everyone!"
Taking the Steps
When known substance abusers suddenly start talking about journeys and support networks, it's often taken as a sign that they're in recovery, but that doesn't seem to be the case with Jenelle.
So What's Up?
Fans and critics alike were quick to respond to Evans' tweet. Some were supportive -- and some were understandably skeptical.
Sort of a Case-By-Case Thing
"Happy people don’t have to tell people they’re happy," wrote one follower. And while that's not always true, these sudden declarations from Jenelle are a little suspect.
Threat or Promise?
"You’ll mess up soon," another user ominously tweeted.
She's Got a Point
This tweeter accused Jenelle of lying like a dog. When she was criticized, she replied, "There is a difference between mean, and being honest. I'm being honest."
Speaking of Dogs
Some fans won't let Evans forget the Nugget incident. Nor should they.
House of Horrors
In case you somehow forgot, David Eason shot and killed Jenelle's puppy, Nugget, earlier this year during one of his infamous fits of rage.
One Bad Move After Another
Jenelle was not blameless in the incident. She lied to the cops on David's behalf and insisted that her kids continue living with a violent psychopath, even though other living arrangements had already been made.
But despite it all (Remember that time she wished death on a troop who was about to deploy?) Jenelle still has quite a few fans who will support her no matter what.
"I’m glad for you," wrote one fan. "Still be careful who you trust. But definitely don’t hesitate to lean on her support system. You will do great. Stay safe
A Product of Trauma
Of course it's important to remember for that for the last two years at least, Jenelle has (allegedly) been a victim of abuse, and many of her actions might have been the result of trauma or constant stress.
Brighter Days Ahead
"Very happy for you! Ain't life grand once you're free from abuse! Merry Xmas to you and your family xx," one fan remarked.
Messages of Hope
"Im so happy for you and the kids !! Your one of my favorite people ! I went thru a bad relationship and he abused me and i got away from my ex 7 yrs ago and im doing so much better now .. Your strong and you can do it by your self," another chimed in.
The Bad Guy
Look, there's no doubt that Jenelle has engaged in some unforgiviable behavior in her time. But as far as we know, David is still much, much worse.
Nothing has been proven in court yet, but there's ample evidence to indicate that Jenelle's allegations are accurate.
Remember Evans' tearful 911 call after she was allegedly assaulted by Eason?
Or how about this lovely exchange that was caught on tape?
Hard Road Ahead
We're not saying that Jenelle is a decent person, or even that she's worthy of forgiveness -- but maybe we should all give her the benefit of the doubt as she prepares for the court battle of a lifetime.
