There’s still some doubt as to whether or not Farrah Abraham has been fired from Teen Mom OG.
But whatever the case, it doesn’t seem that Ms. Abraham will be with the show for much longer.
Farrah has quit multiple times in the past, and producers are reportedly fed up with her nonsense.
In fact, it seems they’ve already taken steps to find a replacement mom to take Farrah’s place.

Casting Farrah on a reality show creates a real catch-22 situation: the same flare for drama that makes her so great on camera also makes her a nightmare to work with. Fortunately, Teen Mom OG producers have finally come to their senses and realized that she just ain’t worth it.
Big Shoes to Fill
The problem is, who could possibly hope to fill the gaping chasm that will be left by the absence of such a large personality as Farrah’s? Well, it seems MTV has been pondering this dilemma for quite some time …

Farrah brings drama, sure, but she’s far from the only lunatic under the moon. In fact, it seems producers didn’t even have to look outside of her immediate family to find more high-strung women capable of incessantly stirring the pot.

Producers reportedly considered hiring Farrah’s mom, Debra Danielsen, to replace her daughter as a full-time cast member. It would really be stretching the limits of the “Teen Mom” title, but hey, the cast of Jersey Shore almost never went to the beach, right?

Longtime Teen Mom OG fans will recognize Farrah’s sister, Ashley Danielsen. She, too, was reportedly considered as Farrah’s replacement, but it seems producers ultimately decided against continuing their relationship with the Danielsen-Abraham clan.

Yes, one of the potential full-timers is already very familiar to fans of the show. Mackenzie Standifer married Ryan Edwards last summer, and her life has been wildly tumultuous ever since. The situation has made for some compelling television, so it’s not all that surprising that producers are interested in making her a full-fledged member of the cast.
Mackenzie McKee
Mackenzie McKee was one of the stars of MTV’s short-lived Teen Mom 3. While the show was a casualty of sequel fatigue, interest in the lives of its principal players has remained consistent. Last year, TM3 alum Briana DeJesus joined the cast of Teen Mom 2, and now, producers are reportedly considering Mackenzie McKee for the OG iteration.
Battle of the Mackenzies
Yes, in a bizarre coincidence, MTV is considering two moms named Mackenzie for the coveted position. So who has the upper hand? Well, allow us to break down each Mack’s chances…
The Standifer Experiment
Mrs. Standifer-Edwards’ odds are improved by the fact that the show won’t have to waste any time familiarizing viewers with her situation. Fans know what she’s up against, and they’re already very interested in her struggle.
Ryan’s Hope
Mackenzie is a complicated figure in that she’s been both blamed for Ryan’s downfall and credited with his newfound sobriety. Obviously, neither assessment is completely fair, but there’s no denying that she’s had a hand in helping her husband turn his life around.
Mackenzie vs. Maci
Despite that, Mackenzie still butts heads with Ryan’s baby mama, Maci Bookout. Their conflict may not be great for the children in their lives, but fans appear to be loving every second of it. So it stands to reason that producers would want to feature more of it on the TMOG.
The Drawback
At this point, it seems the biggest thing – and possibly the only thing – working against Mackenzie is the fact that she’s already clashed with fans and producers over negative comments about her that appeared on social media. She’s threatened to quit the show in the past, and producers might be afraid that if they hire Mackenzie, they’ll be embarking on a search for another replacement mom much sooner than they’d like.
McKee to Success
Contrast that with Mackenzie McKee, who’s made no secret of the fact that she would LOVE another shot at Teen Mom stardom.
A Second Chance
Producers considered McKee for Teen Mom 2, but passed on her in favor of Briana. These days, however, public interest in Mackenzie’s life is at an all-time high for a very sad reason. Her mother, Andie Douthit, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. It’s a tragic development, but the family’s struggle to cope could make for compelling television.
Already Filming?
“There’s a production team that’s been going down to Oklahoma to film Mackenzie over the past few weeks,†one insider tells The Ashley. “Right now, they are planning to use that footage to do a ‘Teen Mom’ special. It will likely be Being Mackenzie but that hasn’t been totally confirmed yet.â€Â
Down to Two
Producers may have yet to reach a final decision, but it seems they’re 100 percent certain that one of the Mackenzies will be joining the cast next season. “There is no one else in consideration at this time,†the source confirms to The Ashley. “Anyone else is just a rumor. If they are planning to use anyone else, it is being kept completely on the down-low.â€Â
What’s At Stake?
Obviously, landing the gig would change both women’s lives. They’d have a long way to go before they start earning the really big bucks, but it’s still one hell of a plum gig. “They are planning to pay her around $3,000 an episode to take the fourth spot on ‘Teen Mom OG,’†says one of The Ashley’s sources. “That would obviously be significantly less than the other girls make.” The insider adds that in recent weeks, one clear front-runner has emerged…
Expect Standifer!
“It is not a done deal yet, but the consensus is that Mackenzie Edwards will get the spot,” says the insider. “Recently, they’ve been filming her life with Ryan for Maci [Bookout]‘s segment almost more than Maci’s life. Plus, she was a teenage mother so it kind of makes sense.†So there you have it, folks. It looks like even more TMOG cash will soon be pouring into the Standifer-Edwards household!
