Look. We wish we'd never have to write about Derick Dillard ever again.
Trust us on this one.
We can think of much better ways to spend our time than to pay any attention at all to someone who bullies transgender youths and who seems to have no tolerance for anyone with a different set of beliefs.
We're just not big fans of Dillard around here.
And it turns out that he isn't a big fan of Jim Bob Duggar or of TLC. What a shocker, right?!?
What has Derick said now about his father-in-law and about the network that fired him?
Scroll down to find out!
Ugggh, Hasn't Derick Been Canceled?!?
Not entirely, it seems. TLC did it best way back in late 2017 when it announced that it would never featured the homophobe on its network ever again.
Refresh Our Memories Here. What Happened?
We need to go back to August 2017 here, back to when Dillard came off the top rope out of nowhere and attacked fellow TLC reality star Jazz Jennings.
Take All THIS Jazz!
Jennings has become famous as a transgender icon, as her TLC series chronicles her life as someone living with this idenity. Derick made it clear over two years ago that he's grossed out by her mere existence, basically.
What Did the Loser Tweet?
"What an oxymoron... a 'reality' show which follows a non-reality. 'Transgender' is a myth. Gender is not fluid; it's ordained by God."
He Trashed Her Over and Over Again, Too
In September 2018, Dillard was at it again. "I just speak out against child abuse, and especially those who promote it, because it’s the right thing to do," he claimed in a tweet, comparing gender transformation surgery to abuse and adding: "It’s just absolutely awful. And should not be celebrated."
In November 2017, TLC executive finally had enough of being associated with Dillard. The network confirmed it had fired Dillard.
And the Network Made Clear the Reason Why
This was the statement released by producers at the time: "We want to let our viewers know that Derick Dillard has not participated in Counting On for months. The network has no plans to feature him in the future. We want to reiterate that Derick's personal statements do not reflect the views of the network. TLC is proud to share the story of Jazz Jennings and her family and will continue to do so."
Dillard has continued to be active on social media, while he and wife Jill have acted rather defiant in certain ways, sort of distancing themselves from their controversial family.
Really? Give Us Some Examples...
Well, the couple actually DOES vaccinate its kids. And they may send their kids to college. And they even dressed up for Halloween
, which, yes, does go against their weird family's values.
So, What's the Latest?
Tweets that Dillard wrote back on October 18 have gone viral a few weeks after he wrote them, specifically a few harsh words he had to say about Jim Bob Duggar and TLC itself.
Interesting. In What Contest?
On this date, a fan asked Dillard about why Jim Bob gets “all the money for the show and doesn’t give any to his children?” Talk about teeing Derick up perfectly, right?
Dillard Went Ahead and Took the Bait
“I don’t know. You would have to ask him that," he replied.
What About His Beef with TLC
It appears to stem from all the money the network has made off 19 Kids and Counting and then off the spinoff, Counting On. "Why don't you "kids" adults when on show have their own contracts? Do you know how much $ these shows make?" asked another follower on social media.
Dillard Then Threatened a Lawsuit in Response
“@TLC has issues," he wrote back. "They begged us not to quite (sic) filming, but then didn’t want to talk directly with us about why. If money is all they care about, then it’s going to catch-up with them – you must care about ppl. All I’ve got to say is, they better lawyer-up b/c a storm is inevitable,” Dillard wrote.
Ummm, What is He Talking About Here?
We really don't know. Derick has claimed from the outset that he wasn't fired... he says he quit 19 Kids and Counting. Why is he bringing this up on November 12, 2019? Two years after he stopped filming? We can't say. And is he now claiming to have been wrongfully terminated? Yes, it seems so.
To Hell with Both of Them!
All TLC is "worried about is making that money, so if they can blame corruption on somebody else, but still get away with the benefits, then they'll happily do so," wrote Derick in response to a question about both Jim Bob and the network.
Why is Derick Talking About This Now?
Because he's working for GrubHub and is maybe desperate for money? That's our best guess.
Any Word from TLC in Response to Derick's Ranting and Raving?
Nope, not yet.
Any Word from Jim Bob?
Also negative. The Duggar patriarch has resisted getting into any public spats with Dillard so far, much to the chagrin of those of us who write about these people for a living. Come on now, Jim Bob!!!
