David Eason is no longer part of the Teen Mom franchise.
The husband of Jenelle Evans was fired in February of 2018 for posting homophobic remarks on Twitter.
Neither he nor his controversial wife took the decision quietly, blasting MTV at various points over the past several months.
We hadn’t heard much about the move in awhile, though, not until the network hired Bristol Palin as a new cast member on Teen Mom OG.
For reasons that sort of make sense, this casting as set Eason off.
Who does he blame for it and why? Scroll down to find out!
You’re Fired!

Eason received the news that he was given the boot from Teen Mom 2 in late February 2018. It was the culmination of the reality star stirring up a great deal of controversy among crew members and co-stars.
What Did He Say?

That he’ll teach his kids to avoid gay people, for one thing, while comparing the LGBT community to dogs.
What Else Did He Say?

That gay people have no morals and that parents need to stop teaching their kids anything about this community is acceptable or “normal.”
And What Did MTV Say in Response?

That he’s outta there! “David Eason’s personal comments do not reflect the views of MTV,” said the network in response. With six weeks left of production on Teen Mom 2, effective immediately, we are ending our relationship with him.”
Enter Bristol Palin!

Fast forward a few months and MTV stunned the nation by hiring Bristol as a replacement for Farrah Abraham (who was fired for sucking and loving porn too much, basically). We’re still processing this development, to be honest.
Palin Has Spoken Out on the Casting:

“I am excited to join MTV’s ‘Teen Mom OG.’ I look forward to sharing my experiences and hope that I can help others on their journey,” she wrote as a caption to a photo of her, her kids and some MTV cameramen.
Eason Has Something to Say About This, Too

Eason took to Instagram and shared his disdain for the move via the image above, which reads: “I know MTV is comprised of hypocrites but how do you fire me and hire Bristol Palin after all of her homophobic and racist remarks?”
Darn Those Libs!

David added in his caption that while he has nothing against Palin personally, he has “everything against MTV, to whom he referred as “liberals trying to confuse, persuade, and penalize.”
Damn Those Libs? Huh?!?

Executive producer Morgan J. Freeman actually is an outspoken Democrat. And an insider said the following to Hollywood Life: “Bristol comes from a staunch Republican family, so it comes as a surprise that the politically active Morgan would make such a choice.” Sure, but paying a huge salary and giving a platform to this young conservative woman isn’t exactly the work of someone motivated by his politics, as Eason is trying to claim.
Wait, What Has Bristol Said About the LGBT Community?

Well… while filming her Lifetime reality show Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp in 2011, Palin a man screamed to her: “Your mother’s the f-cking devil, dude.” Per Radar Online, she replied, “Is it because you’re homosexual?”
Down with Gay Marriage!

After President Barack Obama cited a conversation with his daughters as a reason why he supports gay marriage, Bristol blogged: “It would’ve been helpful for him to explain to Malia and Sasha that while her friends parents are no doubt lovely people, that’s not a reason to change thousands of years of thinking about marriage… it would’ve been nice if the President would’ve been an actual leader and helped shape their thoughts instead of merely reflecting what many teenagers think after one too many episodes of Glee.”
Another Example:

After openly gay figure skater Adam Rippon refused to meet with Mike Pence (who is a major critic of the gay lifestyle), Palin wrote. “The cool thing for athletes to do now, apparently, is to snub any invitations to the White House in order to take a stand against the Donald Trump administration… In today’s crazy political climate, it’s nice to be kind – even if we have different political views.”
David Eason Sucks, But…

… we sort of don’t blame him here. Palin has not been as offensive in her views; she hasn’t openly told parents to tell their kids to stay away from gay people or been as extreme in her public views as Eason. Yet still. He at least has a point here.
What Has Been the Other Bristol Reaction?

Well, her mom is all for her casting! The former Vice Presidential candidate told TMZ: “Bristol’s gonna be a great messenger for overcoming a little bit of challenge and doing well in life. We’re not doing a ‘reality star’ type thing. She sees this as a venue, a forum, for good [and] to help people in a hurting world. So I encourage her doing this, I support her doing this and I’m proud of her.”
And Farrah?

“MTV has already tried to replace myself with another teen mom,” Abraham told The New York Post, adding: “It was unsuccessful and now with another teen mom, they can keep trying to replace but there is not a replacement for me.”
And Kailyn Lowry?

She’s on Teen Mom 2, not Teen Mom OG. But she Tweeted in the wake of this hiring: “Bristol palin & cheyenne & Cory for teen mom og? Our producers sure know what to do.”
Cody Who?

Cody Wharton, the baby daddy of the other Teen Mom OG newcomer, Cheyenne Floyd. As you can see above, he’s ready to basically team up with Bristol and stir up some major drama.
You Tell ‘Em, Honey!

No surprise here, but Jenelle stood up for her husband shortly after he made his opinion known.
You Take It In, Bristol!

Reports indicate that Palin is making $250,000 for her first season of Teen Mom OG. We can’t wait to see how her co-stars react to that payday!
Start the Show, MTV!

Seriously, this new season cannot premiere quickly enough. What are you waiting for, producers?!?
