Last week, Joe Giudice posted a bizarre Valentine's Day promise, part of a series of sweet yet wildly chaotic social media posts.
He then posted a gushing Valentine to Teresa, even though they have separated. Folks, this is strange but really sweet.
Valentine's Day is over! But before we go on a Marshmallow Peeps shopping spree, let's look at what Joe had to say to his distant wife.
"Thank you!" Joe gushed in the captions of his Valentine's Day tribute to Teresa.
He added that he was thanking her "For being a great mom and wonderful wife."
Joe punctuated his caption with a black heart emoji, a lovey-face emoji, and a double-heart emoji.
As you can see here, Joe had taken one of Teresa's red carpet photos and transformed it into a barely readable transformative work of art.
"Thank you for providing so well for this family," Joe wrote over her photo in a jarringly difficult font.
He opined: "I think we make a great team."
"I really appreciate you," Joe concluded. "Happy [Red Heart Emoji]-Day!"
So, real talk, what's going on with Joe? He and Teresa are separated -- by an entire ocean and by the US government.
Is this, as so many fans seem to think, a case of Joe not knowing how good he has it until it's taken from him?
He and Teresa didn't simply have enough of each other and split. Circumstances tore them apart.
So is Joe trying to make up for lost time (and the toxic masculinity that kept him from gushing to his wife for years) because he feels regret?
There is another, possibly more realistic theory out there: that Joe is doing this for Gia, Gabriella, Milania, and Audriana.
Joe and Teresa are adults who can cope with this awful situation. Their four daughters are having a lot more trouble with it.
Is Joe posting these performative messages, on Valentine's Day and on other days, just to appease their kids?
It may be a small comfort to their four daughters, especially young Audriana, if Joe keeps acting out normal marital affections from Italy.
There's another theory floating around that may be even more plausible, however.
Joe has been talking a lot recently about being a changed man and starting new ventures.
Recently, Joe announced his new podcast, on which he will apparently present himself as some sort of relationship expert.
(There was also something about family values and travel, but he was not very specific)
How is this related to Joe's chaotic social media energy and the way that he gushes about his wife?
Well, Joe's fame is immediately connected to Teresa. It's how people know who he is.
So the fan theory is that he's clinging to relevance by talking about her and their daughters as much as he can. And it's working!
Joe can use social media as a bridge to keep attention on himself and then use that momentum as fuel for his next business ventures. It's realistic.
