It was Mother's Day on Sunday, which meant that all over the country, parents and children with less-than-perfect relationships set aside their differences and pretended to appreciate last-minute gas station bouquets and hastily-prepared Dad Dinners.
And it looks as though Jinger and Michelle Duggar may have been among those who celebrated the occasion by burying the hatchet.
(Of course, they're still Duggars, so you can bet none of the men in the family did any cooking.)
For months now, it's been rumored that Jinger is feuding with her parents.
Some have even gone so far as to claim that Jim Bob and Michelle have disowned Jinger.
Accounts vary as to the causes of the feud, but it's widely agreed that Jinger's parents aren't particularly close with her husband, Jeremy Vuolo.
On top of that, they're said to be less than thrilled with Jinger's decision to move to Los Angeles so that Jeremy can study at a divinity school there.
For that matter, the Duggars reportedly weren't happy with Jinger and Jeremy's relocation to Laredo, Texas immediately after their wedding.
But in Jim Bob's eyes, Laredo has the dual advantages of being slightly closer to Arkansas and far more conservative than Los Angeles.
Whatever the case, it looks as though the Duggars decided to make peace with their most rebellious daughter before she heads west to La-La Land:
Jinger recently posted the above photo to her Instagram page, along with a caption reading:
"It has been so wonderful having my beautiful mother in town!
"She is one amazing woman and my hero. I am so blessed to call her mom."
Pretty complimentary stuff, to be sure.
But it seems a reunion with Jinger was not Jim Bob and Michelle's sole purpose for visiting the Lone Star state.
The couple was apparently joined by a random assortment of Duggars for some sort of faith-based conference.
"We came back from the Big Sandy, TX, Family Conference with full hearts and tons of memories!!" they wrote on their joint Instagram page.
"Our kids LOVED being part of all the programs. We’re so glad that some of our married children made it with their families, too!"
Okay, so Jim Bob and Michelle may have had non-Jinger reasons for visiting Texas, but the fact remains they spent some time with their daughter and granddaughter before the big move to Cali.
As for Jeremy -- well, it's unclear if they spent any time with the man who "stole" their daughter away.
But hey, one step at a time, right?
Progress is progress.
