Though the move has divided some The Real Housewives of Orange County fans, Vicky Gunvalson saved her role on the long-running series.
However, sources warn that she must deliver on her major promises to producers if she wants to stay on for another season after this.
Is she really prepared to get engaged and married just to stay on TV?
Reports have described Vicki Gunvalson as being a holy terror on set.
There's a method to her madness -- she wants to keep her job, and knows that fights, feuds, and drama are the recipe to success.
But producers knew that Vicki could be a troublemaker already.
Vicki will do anything to stay on TV -- even if it means having her income slashed.
When she was negotiating to keep her Full Housewife status earlier this year, missing the first two weeks of filming, she promised them more.
Ultimately, it was Steve Lodge who saved Vicki's job, because the two agreed to a major stunt.
(Point of order -- it was Vicki's representative who officially made the offer)
Steve is going to propose to Vicki, and Bravo's cameras are going to be there to film it.
That assurance, plus Vicki pulling out all of the stops, saved Vicki for Season 14.
But a new report warns that producers absolutely intend to hold Vicki to her promise for a big, on-screen proposal.
Celebrity Insider reports that an engagement is the only thing that will keep Vicki relevant for Season 15, let alone beyond.
"No matter how much partying Vicki does," the insider warns.
The source continues, cautioning that "without an engagement from Steven on camera."
"She doesn’t have a storyline," the insider assesses.
"And," the source concludes. "She isn’t going to be a full-time housewife."
In addition to her boyfriend, Vicki's adult daughter is taking one for the team and helping to save her mom's job.
Briana Culberson relocated to North Carolina, where she lives with her husband and children.
However, Vicki recently took to Instagram to share that Briana will be coming for a visit.
Viewers are of course excited to check in with Briana as she catches up with her mom.
Also -- let's be real, more importantly -- viewers are excited to get an update on Vicki's grandchildren.
Vicki missed the first two weeks of Season 14's filming because she was still in negotiations.
But not everyone agrees that Vicki should have offered Bravo so much in order to keep her "orange."
Many, including other Housewives, have pointed to NeNe Leakes on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Years ago, Bravo tried to demote her to "friend of the Housewives." She didn't play their game, and ratings tanked.
The next year, they brought her back with a massive pay raise.
While NeNe is not normally a role model for how people should behave (what Housewife is?), they feel that Vicki should have followed her example.
Assuming that Vicki becomes engaged as promised, we can probably expect to see her back for Season 15.
(We hope -- it would be a shame if she went through all of that trouble for Bravo to decide that she's not worth it)
But one proposal isn't going to last forever, so we imagine that Vicki will have to cultivate long-lasting drama over the next year or so.
Clearly, her undying feud with Kelly Dodd isn't cutting it.
We can't believe that we're saying this, but maybe she should have never stopped being mean to Tamra Judge and Shannon Beador.
