Back in July, Demi Lovato suffered an overdose that nearly claimed her life.
After detoxing in a hospital, Demi headed to rehab, where she spent 90 days receiving the best treatment money can buy.
But as anyone who's struggled with addiction can attest, quality treatment is no substitute for commitment to the hard work of recovery.
And these days, there are fears of Demi "falling back into her old ways" due to the company she keeps.
Demi is currently dating Henri Levy, a clothing designer whom she met during her time in rehab.
Henry is also a former addict, which has led many to question whether the relationship is a good idea.
People who are new to recovery are generally discouraged from entering romantic relationships, and dating fellow addicts is particularly frowned upon.
In recent weeks, Demi and Henri have not been spotted together as often, and many fans were hopeful that the relationship had come to an end.
But according to a new report from In Touch, Lovato and Levy are closer than ever.
“Demi and Henri are still together,” a source tells the magazine.
The insider adds that Henry and Demi have not been photographed together recently because “he’s been in Paris for Men’s Fashion Week,”, but “they are very much in love.
"They speak frequently when they’re apart,” the source added.
“They have no problem staying in touch and communicating. Their relationship is fairly serious at this point in time.”
Despite rumors of relapse fears, it seems Demi is happy, healthy and sober these days.
“I’m so blessed I get to take this time to be with family, relax, work on my mind, body and soul and come back when I’m ready,” she tweeted last month.
“I have my fans to thank for that. I’m so grateful, truly. I l love you guys so f—king much, thank you.”
In the end, Demi is old enough to know what's best for herself.
So while family, friends, and fans might still be fretting over her relationship, it's possible that Henri has actually been a positive influence on the singer.
