If you watch Counting On online, you know that this season has basically been one long build-up to the engagement of Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo.
We thought we would see the big moment on last week's episode, but producers pulled an epic bait-and-switch by hitting viewers with an old-fashioned clip show instead.
But insiders promise that tonight, we'll finally see Jeremy pop the question to Jinger. (ed. note: 'bout time!)
In the above clip from Tuesday's episode, we see Jeremy frantically making the final arrangements for his big rooftop proposal in New York City.
Despite the fact that the dude is thoroughly trouncing Jessa's brothers-in-law in the romantic proposal department, he's still understandably nervous.
To make matters worse, his knowledge of Manhattan apparently comes entirely from '80s standup routines and the original Ninja Turtles movie, because he seems to be under the impression that if he walks around with an engagement ring in his pocket, a gang of street toughs will wallop him over the head with a blackjack.
(Someone should tell Jeremy that every day, millions of women walk around NYC with engagement rings right on their hands for all to see!)
He asks his friend Luis Robles to deliver the ring at the appropriate time, which seems like a terrible idea, as Robles' wife is nine months pregnant and could give birth at any moment.
"What I'm nervous about is Jeremy — how he's gonna hold up, is he going to be able to keep a straight face the entire time, is he going to lose his mind, is he going to start crying halfway through the day because of pure joy and emotion?" Robles tells the camera.
Now there's a vote of confidence.
Jessa Duggar is similarly concerned with Jeremy's mental state, stating:
"Jeremy is getting very excited as the day approaches, and he's trying to remain calm, though.
"I don't think he's appearing anxious outwardly, but he's remaining very calm, so Jinger won't catch on."
Jessa adds that she believes her younger sister will be thoroughly shocked by Jeremy's proposal.
"I don't think she has any clue what's coming," she says.
Based on her remarks at the end of clip, however, we think Jinger has an inkling that something special is in store:
"Out of all the trips that I've taken in my life, I think that this is definitely one of the most memorable because it's been spent with my best friend, the most amazing person, gift from God," she says.
