Pretty much from the moment the world learned they were hooking up, reports of Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani getting engaged have been circulating on social media non-stop.
In fact, early in the relationship, it was rumored that Gwen was rushing her divorce from Gavin Rossdale so that she and Blake could get hitched.
But the news that Gwen and Blake were an item has been out for almost a year now, and there's still no ring on Stefani's finger.
Obviously, that's not a long time to date without getting engaged, but insiders claim that Stefani and Shelton were talking marriage pretty much from the moment they started hooking up.
Plus fans have been clamoring for it, and what better reason for two celebrities to tie the knot than to make their fans happy?
(We kid, of course.)
Now - if the latest rumors are true (and that's always a big if) - it's beginning to look like Gwen and Blake might be ready to give the people what they want.
Sources tell Hollywood Life that Gwen and Blake will be putting their busy schedules on hold in October to "spend some quality time together."
The insider adds that they'll be doing some traveling, including a stop by Blake's hometown in Oklahoma, where Stefani hopes he'll pop the question.
“She is definitely expecting and hoping for a ring,” the source claims.
“He wants to marry Gwen, but has not told anyone his ideas or timing for popping the question. He is keeping that very close to his chest.”
Despite the reportedly secretive nature of Blake's proposal, insiders have a number of theories about how it's gonna go down.
Is it probably all BS?
Are we gonna dissect them anyway?
You know it, inquisitive hypothetical reader!
According to HL's "insider," Blake's inner circle believes that he's planning something "quirky," and he wants the proposal to take place around Halloween.
The Halloween thing makes sense, since it was near Halloween of 2015 that we first learned Blake and Gwen are together.
(Some say a Halloween party was their first date.)
As for the "quirky" bit, there are many directions Blake could take that...
...but we're gonna go with gorilla costume.
Yes, it's a bold prediction, but we're guessing Halloween night, gorilla costume, and pun along the lines of, "I'll go bananas if you agree to be my wife!"
We want so much credit it if really ends up that way.
