Might Kristen Stewart go from biting her own lower lip at all times to biting the necks of potential sustenance sources on The Vampire Diaries?
That’s a long-winded way of asking of a seemingly ridiculous rumor making its way around the Internet could actually become a reality.
And that rumor goes as follows:

With The Vampire Diaries Season 8 already confirmed as the final run for this wildly popular CW drama, fans of the series have been wondering whether or not Nina Dobrev would return for the series finale.
The actress left the show after Season 6, taking her character of Elena Gilbert along with her.
But the character was not killed off.
She was placed in a spell-induced coma and will supposedly remain unconscious and out of the picture until good friend Bonnie Bennett dies.
Elena was mentioned very often through The Vampire Diaries Season 7; she is very much alive, so to speak, in the TVD universe.
Creator Julie Plec has also made it clear that Dobrev said she’d be interested in returning, specifically for the series finale, which we presume will air in May of 2017.
HOWEVER…
According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, Dobrev will not be coming back at any point on Season 8.
But this report somehow goes on to claim that Elena still may very well make an appearance.
In the form of Kristen Stewart!

This spoiler suggests that Elena will body-jump into whatever character producers devise for Stewart.
On its own, yes, body-jumping is something Plec and company have become known for; on The Originals, for example, the character of Rebekah has been played by two different actresses over the past few years.
And, yes, there has been talk that Ian Somerhalder does not want to work with Dobrev after their messy breakup from a couple years ago.
So it is conceivable that Dobrev is never seen again on The Vampire Diaries. We can’t deny that possibility.
But it’s a pretty lazy (and lame) job of reporting for any website to say the show will just plug Stewart in, simply because she’s also famous for having starred in a vampire-themed franchise.

The odds of this casting rumor coming true are about as high as the odds of The Vampire Diaries winning Best Drama Series at the Emmys in 2017.
And, look, we love The Vampire Diaries. It’s been a riveting, suspenseful fun ride, with a surprising number of terrific performances over the years.
But it ain’t winning no Emmy Awards.
So take this Dobrev-Stewart talk with a grain of salt the size of your crush on Somerhalder. It. Is. Not. Happening.
