Adele was scarcely able to get through her concert at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night.
She was nearly too traumatized by the Angelina Jolie divorce filing to deliver her typically incredible lyrics in front of a sold-out crowd.
And here's the thing: we're not really kidding.
Just hours after news broke that Jolie really did file for divorce from Brad Pitt after nearly two years of marriage, Adele sat on stage in New York City and addressed the dissolution of this beloved union.
"Can we talk about the elephant in the room, that Brangelina broke up?’” said the singer, a few songs into her set.
The 28-year old just couldn't help but bring up the topic, which has taken over the entire Internet over the past 24 hours or so.
“I mean, I don’t like gossiping and private lives should be private, but it is an end of an era, so I'm dedicating the show tonight to them because honestly, I’m really, really sad,” Adele continued.
“I don’t know them at all, but I was shocked when I woke up this morning.”
Weren't we all?
Watch Adele utter these hilarious, relatable words in the following video:
According to fans on Twitter, Adele also lead attendees inside the venue in a “group Brangelina breakup therapy session."
How much would you have paid to have been a part of that?!?
Audience couldn’t get enough of the Brangelina tribute, with one stating people were in tears, while another tweeted:
"@adele is freaking about #brangelina on stage at msg this is TOO GOOD."
Jolie filed for divorce on Monday, citing irreconcilable differences.
The actress and the actor had been married for two years (although they had been together for about 13 years) and have six children together.
Jolie is seeking physical custody of all the kids, with various outlets claiming she no longer wants to be married because she thinks Pitt is a bad father.
It remains unclear why she believes this, but it may be due to Pitt's alleged drinking and drug problem.
As you might expect, Pitt is apparently fighting back against these charges and also fighting for custody of his children.
He plans to ask a judge to approve joint custody, as the world prepares for a Brangelina custody battle that we never would have seen coming just a few days ago.
And we're not alone.
Consider George Clooney's reaction when told yesterday about Angelina and Brad splitting up:
And he's their friend!
If Clooney is left speechless over this divorce development, how is anyone else supposed to cope?!?
Where were you when you heard the Brangelina news? How did you react?
Has it sunk in yet? It clearly hasn't for many celebrities, not just for Adele.
