If you watched this week’s episode of Jill & Jessa: Counting On, you know that the topic of courtship came up yet again.
That’s been something of a constant this season, with just about all of the unmarried adult Duggars being forced to answer for why they’re still single.
The family has been speculating aloud about Jana Duggar’s love life for years now, so that’s nothing new.
In a recent interview, there was talk of Jana’s twin, John-David Duggar, finding the right woman so we guess there’s at least some equal-opportunity prying going on.
Of course, Jana and John-David are 26, and two of their younger sisters have already gotten married and started families, so it makes sense (we guess?) that they’re being pressured to commence with the baby-makin’. (They are Duggars, after all.)
What doesn’t make sense is the fact that 18-year-old Joy-Anna Duggar is already being prodded into settling down.
On the most recent episode, Anna Duggar (hardly one to be offering romance tips, if you ask us) questions Joy-Anna, "What are you looking for in a guy?"
Though she’s spoken openly about the qualities she would look for in a partner in past interviews, on this occasion, Joy-Anna simply makes a face that indicates she has no interest in beginning the courtship process anytime soon.
We understand that in the Duggars’ world procreation is everything, but we hope they’ll allow Joy-Anna to progress at her own pace.
After all, the girl can squat 145 pounds, we’re sure she’ll be fine.
