Nicki Minaj would like to use more than 140 characters to set the record straight.

The artist found herself feuding with Taylor Swift on Tuesday night after Tweeting her frustration with the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.

Minaj jumped on Twitter soon after nominations for the August 30 ceremony were announced and lamented the belief that only singers who "celebrate women with slim bodies" seemed to be up for awards.

Swift took this personally because she leads the nomination pack… she Tweeted a message to Nicki about how women should not attack other women… and then Katy Perry jumped in to call Swift a hypocrite.

Fun times! At least for those of us who cover such beefs.

But Minaj wrote a length post on Instagram last night in which she clarified her stance and made it clear that she has no issue whatsover with Taylor Swift.

Her Tweets had "nothing to do with any of the women [nominated], but everything to do with a system that doesn’t credit black women for their contributions to pop culture as freely/quickly as they reward others," Minaj wrote.

"We are huge trendsetters, not second class citizens that get thrown crumbs."

Along with her message, Minaj shared a screenshot of a recent Marie Claire article that explained "The Truth About Racism in the Music Industry."

It talked about how those who have been nominated for major music video awards over the years have included:

  • Britney Spears when she got nearly naked in "Toxic."
  • Robin Thicke after Emily Ratajkowski stripped way down in "Blurred Lines."
  • Miley Cyrus for riding a wrecking ball nude in "Wrecking Ball."

Can you tell what those videos have in common?

"This isn’t anger. This is #information," Minaj concluded. "It’s all love to MTV. Kisses to my fans and thank you for my 3 nominations."
