Another Bachelor duo bites the dust. Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff have called it quits, according to a statement from producer Mike Fleiss.
Mike Fleiss, the show-runner and creator of The Bachelor, Tweeted today: "Sad news to report: @souleschris and @whitbisch are no longer engaged."
The Bachelor winners confirmed it themselves in a joint statement to Us.
"Whitney Bischoff and Chris Soules have mutually and amicably decided to end their engagement," the duo said as their PC parting shot.
"They part with nothing but respect and admiration for one another and continue to be supportive friends," Chris and Whitney added.
"They wish to thank everyone who has supported them through this."
Soules and Bischoff, who were engaged for six months, often faced speculation of a split while he competed on Dancing With the Stars.
The tabloid talk was easy to dismiss at the time, but evidently the predictors of the couple's imminent demise were pretty much spot on.
"We're together and we're in love," Soules said on the May 4 broadcast.
"We're making the best of a really cool situation that we're both a part of that's not going to last much longer," he insisted, quashing the rumors.
"We're just normal people living a kind of abnormal life [right now]."
Soules was booted off the ABC competition one day later, and Bischoff joined him on the farm. All appeared to be back to normal. But it wasn't.
Whitney returned to Chicago, he stayed on the farm in Arlington, Iowa, and chatter that their "break" would be permanent were proven correct.
Their breakup comes on the heels of The Bachelorette stars Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray breaking up just as abruptly earlier this year.
Will Kaitlyn Bristowe have better luck this summer? We don't want to give anything away ... but The Bachelorette spoilers can answer that.
