After eight months of dating, Ariana Grande and Big Sean have reportedly called it quits.
In a statement issued to Us Weekly, reps for the couple confirmed that Big-Grande (or "Seariana," if you prefer) are no longer an item:
“They both deeply care for each other and remain close friends,” says the statement. “We kindly ask that the media respect their wish for privacy regarding this personal matter at this time."
The news comes as a shock, as the fan-favorite couple seemed to be in it for the long haul.
While talk of Ariana and Sean getting engaged turned out to be bogus, the 21-year-old pop star and the 27-year-old rapper both gushed about each other in interviews every chance that they got.
Sean called Ariana his "best friend," just a few weeks ago, which leads us to believe that this isn't a case of two people gradually growing apart.
Something took place that caused Sean and Ari to call it quits so abruptly, and the Internet is sure to chock full of wild speculation in the days to come.
We don't know what sort of rumors will erupt, but there are two things that you can definitely expect from this unexpected split:
- Fans will blame the breakup on Justin Bieber groping Ariana on stage last week.
- Sean will post one of his signature motivational YouTube videos in which he'll remind viewers that "everything happens for a reason" and discuss the importance of moving on.
