On part two of ABC’s two-night Bachelorette EVENT, Andi Dorfman and her remaining men traveled across the country to the great state of Connecticut.

The drama did not stay behind in California.

In addition to some emotionally (and athletically) charged dates, we saw the late Eric Hill leave the series on a somber and surprising note.

What did he say to Andi before departing?

The first one-on-one date of the night went to Dylan, a shy accountant who revealed that he recently lost both his sister and his brother. Andi cried a lot.

Despite this date being so unfun, she gave him a rose, promising that it was not a "pity rose," and more about the fact that he opened up like that.

For her one-on-one date with Marcus, Andi decided to do the obligatory Bachelorette adventure date of rappeling down the side of the hotel.

Marcus, determined to be "the man in the relationship," put aside his own fears of heights and helped her off the ledge, which she found so romantic.

They had dinner and went to a concert later, and had a great time.

The group date was a fun, basketball-themed outing, with the gang practicing, Andi looking cute and some WNBA All-Stars ruining them on the floor.

Then the group split up, with Brian, Eric, Cody, Marquel and Nick talking on Josh, JJ, Chris, Patrick and Tasos in a heated game for time with Andi.

The former fivesome dominated, winning a (smaller) group date.

Brian, who took Andi out onto the court to teach her how to shoot and completely impressed her with a half-court shot, won the group date rose.

He needs to get schooled in reading Andi’s words and body language, however. Fortunately, he made up for it later and went for it, and she was into it.

In her hotel, Andi wondered if she might actually find what she’s looking for on this journey, and received a special delivery – a mysterious love note.

Oooh. Who do you think left the note for her? The plot thickens!

But not all was well on The Bachelorette Season 10 Episode 4.

That night, Eric Hill told Andi that he wasn’t comfortable in such formal settings and she said that while she agreed with him, that’s what the show is.

They got to talking about his family, how he left the Mormon church when he was 26, and the spark between them appeared to be back once more.

Not the case. Later, at the cocktail party, Eric interrupted again.

He confronted Andi, feeling that she wasn’t being herself, that he had seen only glimpses of the real her, and was there to meet a person, not "a TV actress."

Ouch. This quote caused Andi Dorfman to burst into tears.

She promised she was acting as natural as possible and doing all she could to give each guy the time he deserved, and was shocked by this.

With both of them sensing that something wasn’t working, Andi suggested that he leave, because there was no turning this around. Eric obliged.

So he left, and as we know, Eric Hill died weeks later.

After Andi tearfully asked the remaining guys if they felt the same way as Eric, the show cut to Chris Harrison informing us that Tasos was eliminated.

Rather than airing a rose ceremony, Chris and Andi talked about Eric and the way he left the show. She had nothing but kind things to say about him.

Obviously, in light of the tragedy that claimed Eric’s life after he left the series, she wishes her last conversation with him was not the one she had.

Roses: Josh Murray, Pat Jagodzinski, JJ O’Brien, Marquel Martin, Brian Osborne, Dylan Petitt, Marcus Grodd, Andrew Poole, Chris Soules, Nick Viall and Cody Sattler.

Eliminated: Eric Hill and Tasos Hernandez.
