Big Brother 15 star Aaryn Gries, who was at the center of so much controversy last summer, broke some good news on Twitter on Monday night:

She just got engaged to Nick Williams!

The 23-year-old ranch owner says Williams took her jewelry shopping today in Houston, then surprised her by popping the question right there!

He told her to pick what she wanted.

The sparkler Aaryn Gries went with is a whopping 1.6 carats, and the reality star she chose it because it was what she always envisioned for herself.

No self-esteem issues there.

The cute pair celebrated their engagement with a romantic dinner together and say they're "very happy and excited" for the future.

To which we say congrats!

Aaryn Gries made headlines for all the wrong reasons this summer, appearing on Big Brother and coming across as a racist homophobe.

She made fun of an Asian-American contestant. She talked black when confronting an African-American housemate. She was fired from her modeling job for basically being a terrible human being.

And yet even Gries thinks Evander Holyfield went too far this week.

The ex-boxer has come under major fire for saying on the UK's celebrity version of this awful reality show that homosexuality is a handicap that should be fixed by a doctor.

Under intense scrutiny for her conduct all summer on CBS, Big Brother 15 star Aaryn Gries is finally coming clean, admitting she talks like a racist.

STILL, she insists this doesn't make her one though.

The reality star tells TMZ she's made racial jokes for years, but had no idea they were offensive because "no one had expressed that I was taken that way."

So ... does that mean all her friends and family are also racist?

Aaryn apologized for throwing the whole state of Texas under the bus when Julie Chen grilled her after her eviction, saying she was in "defense mode."

Big Brother 15 has come to an end. Now the fallout has begun.

Only after Andy Herren won the $500,000 grand prize awarded to the Big Brother winner did several of his competitors realize the fallout of their actions.

Aaryn Gries, Spencer Clawson, Andrea Zuckerman and GinaMarie Zimmerman are speaking out on losing their jobs this summer while on Big Brother.

In taking the brunt of the flak from the scandal after referring to several houseguests using racial and gay slurs, model Aaryn was dropped by her agency.

With two publicists in tow Wednesday night, Gries addressed her actions: "I definitely was shocked with how serious things were taken," she told THR.

"Some of the things were taken out of context but either way, I definitely regret saying those things. I never wanted to hurt or offend anyone."

Big Brother star Aaryn Gries' mother is defending her foul-mouthed little girl, claiming she can't be racist because she took a black guy to the high school prom.

Seriously. Gotta love that time-honored, always-effective (not) defense.

Gries was evicted from Big Brother and immediately grilled last week, offering some of the laments excuses for her conduct you could ever imagine.

Still, Aaryn's mom is by her side, citing the black prom date and also pointing out that the reality star once dated a "Cuban American." So THERE!

Oh, and she says the Big Brother 15 star sponsored a Filipino child through a charity and "she has cousins of Japanese descent who she truly loves."

As for gays, Aaryn Gries "has never discriminated against anyone for sexual orientation whether within our family or not. Aaryn truly loves all people equally."

Aaryn Gries was finally evicted from the Big Brother house Thursday night, and was promptly grilled by Julie Chen about her comments this summer.

Her explanation, in abridged form?

She's not racist, she's just Texan!

Aaryn Gries, of course, mocked Asians, African-Americans AND homosexuals this season. Frequently, and often seeming to take pleasure in doing so.

She had to know the reckoning was coming, but when she said "I did not mean to ever come off as racist," well, the audience laughed in her face.

And booed. A lot.

The longer explanation: "In Texas, we say things. Sometimes we joke and we don't mean it. I feel how bad it is being seen and how I've come across to people."

Aaryn Gries and her racist comments and cohorts have become the dominant narrative on this controversial, but compelling season of Big Brother.

In what's become a fascinating, voyeuristic look into overt racism in America, there is no editing or context to explain away Aaryn Gries and company.

The only question is how low they will go.

Sunday night, Gries and GinaMarie Zimmerman started "talking black" at Candice Stewart and asking when her "blackness" is going to come out.

This was the latest of many examples that have nauseated viewers.

As the Big Brother racism scandal escalates on CBS, the network is issuing disclaimers and the women of The Talk are weighing in as well.

Julie Chen, who also host Big Brother, has been particularly vocal:

Viewer discretion is advised - for the first time in 15 years of Big Brother, after the show added a disclaimer prior to the airing of Sunday's episode.

In the wake of the ongoing Big Brother racism scandal, the network said:

"Big Brother is a reality show about a group of people who have no privacy 24/7. At times, houseguests may reveal prejudices and other beliefs that CBS does not condone."

Views or opinions expressed by a Houseguest are those of the individuals speaking and do not represent the views or opinions of CBS. Viewer discretion is advised."

The disclaimer comes as Aaryn Gries and GinaMarie Zimmerman have been overheard using racial and homophobic slurs during the show's live feeds.

The Big Brother racism scandal came to a head last night as houseguest Aaryn Gries picked a fight with an African-American co-star with the cameras rolling.

Candice Stewart mixed it up with Gries, who mocked her in a stereotypical black voice, saying, "Whatchu gon do gurrl ... class girl? Where's yo class?"

Skip on ahead to the 2:00 mark of the video below:

Considering what we already know of Aaryn Gries from the live feeds, there's no explaining this away. She certainly comes off like a vile human being.

When Candice, who's African-American, took her to task, Aaryn's fellow racist GinaMarie Zimmerman, got in her face, saying, "You want the black to come out?"

Big Brother 15 has already been marred by racist, homophobic and misogynistic slurs from several cast members on the reality show's live feeds.

The CBS staple actually featured some of Aaryn Gries and GinaMarie Zimmerman's comments in a "Worst Of" compilation during Sunday's episode.

They've both lost their day jobs, unknowingly, while Spencer Clawson may be next. Host Julie Chen spoke out about the scandal Monday on The Talk:

"I have to be honest, it stung," said Chen of the racist and homophobic remarks. "Those things, in my opinion ... it felt mean-spirited. It felt ugly and it felt mean."

"When I first found out that Aaryn, who is a 22-year-old girl, made anti-gay, anti-black and anti-Asian comments, I have to be honest, the Asian ones hit me the most."

"It stung. I took it personally. I’m a human being."
