Dancing With the Stars Results: Who Got the Chop on Latin Night?

by at .  Updated at . Comments

Monday's Dancing with the Stars Season 18 Episode 7 showcased some caliente performances on Latin Night, with Ricky Martin serving as guest judge.

Not only that, The Bachelor star Juan Pablo Galavis was in the audience!

Somewhat surprising, given that he was reportedly a shoo-in to join DWTS before making everyone hate him this winter, but hey. Bygones and all that.

Let's take a look at the performances and scores on Dancing with the Stars Season 18 Episode 7, and see who lived to dance another week on ABC ...

Once again, Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy were out in front!

They would've even gotten a perfect score for their salsa to "Adrenalina," if it weren't for Len Goodman being distracted by the background dancers.

Still, good enough for a three-point lead and frontrunner status for the attractive duo. The full scoreboard from last night's Dancing with the Stars:

  • Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy: 39
  • Amy Purdy and Derek Hough: 36
  • Charlie White and Sharna Burgess: 36
  • James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd: 35
  • Candace Cameron Bure and Mark Ballas: 35
  • Danica McKellar and Val Chmerkovskiy: 33
  • NeNe Leakes and Tony Dovolani: 31

In jeopardy: Charlie, James, and Nene. Who went home?

For once, this felt like a relatively non-controversial elimination. She had a great run, but probably went as far as her talents could take her in this case.

Meanwhile, Amy Purdy was hospitalized after her rumba and had to miss the group routine, though her dress rehearsal effort was taken into account.

Assuming she makes it back next week, only six competitors remain, which Meryl looking like the one to beat by a decent margin at this point in the game.

Is this the season Maks wins his first title? Will fan favorites Candace and Danica make it to the finals against better talent? We will soon find out.

Think America and the judges got it right in ending The Real Housewives of Atlanta star's run in Week 7? Who do you like to win it all this season?

It will be a fight to the finish, that's for sure. Follow the link to watch Dancing with the Stars online at TV Fanatic and share your comments below ...

So happy to see NeNe leave. Her Argentine tango was the worst I've ever seen. All she did was strut. I can't believe the judges didn't call her out on it, like they do with so many other contestants. Anyway, I really like Meryl and James. I disagree that the ice skaters should never have been on the show. DWTS has had similar contestants before. Popularity contest? Maybe. But everyone has his or her own opinion, and you never know how the next person will vote.

Maks and Meryl deserve to win!!!! James and Peta should come in at least second . . . with Val and Danica in third. Mark and Candace - fourth maybe? Amy and Derek in fifth . . . then Charlie and Sharna in sixth. Sorry, but I think the praise for Amy is way over the top and not really in line with her skills. She has been overscored many, many times. Ricky Martin was a great judge -- and I thought he would be because he is such an excellent dancer, especially in the Latin category. His commentary was intelligent, fair and his scoring very realistic. Loved having him as a guest judge. He and Robin Roberts have been the best guest judges so far.

I would love to see handsome Maks win for a change as he is a fantastic dancer! However, I love Amy.....she is so very special and so beautiful. Her dancing is great, especially with her handicap. She is marvelous! Either of them would be worthy!

These ice dancers should never been allowed on this show. I always thought it was for amateurs and they have danced for years. Maybe on ice but it is dancing. That freaky looking girl looks like a cartoon character. I like Ricky Martin. To bad he can't take the idiot, Bruno's place....
I hope the ugly, arrogant, obnoxious NeNe is booted. What an ego for such a fat ugly ole broad. Just saying...

I love the show but I feel like it is more a popularity contest. The judges should have at least a 2/3 of the decision. I really get upset when someone really good goes home just because they didn't get enough popularity votes.

I am not the best dancer, and I have not been the best dancer from the beginning. I am happy we made it this far.
