The Bachelor is a long-running reality TV show on ABC that never actually results in lasting relationships. Recent stars of The Bachelor...

Former Bachelor star Sean Lowe has the distinction of being the only one of 17 stars of the ABC franchise to marry the woman he chose on the finale.

That's right, The Bachelor is 1-for-17, or 1-for-18 if you count total seasons and both of Brad Womack's failed attempts at finding love, in that regard.

To be fair, Jason Mesnick married his runner-up after changing his mind, and The Bachelorette is slightly more respectable, especially in recent years.

Sean knows what he's talking about when it comes to making a relationship work, so Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray might want to heed his advice:

  • Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici Red Carpet Pic
  • Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray Pic

"Dear Andi, Josh Is Not Your Soul Mate."

In a blog post titled exactly that, Lowe offered both his congratulations and his wisdom to Andi Dorfman, cautioning her that the hard part is still ahead.

"I couldn't be happier for the new couple and wish them nothing but love and happiness going forward," wrote Sean who married Catherine Giudici on ABC.

But here's a reality check: "Nobody told Catherine and me that our toughest challenge would come after we rode those elephants off into the sunset."

The Bachelorette has just wrapped its 10th season, with Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray engaged, moving in together, over the moon and talking about a spring wedding.

Will the Atlanta lovebirds actually make it to the altar, however?

The very first woman to star as The Bachelorette, Trista Sutter (nee Rehn), married her final rose recipient. She remains the franchise's standard-bearer.

After Trista came a long dry spell of ill-fated romances which fizzled, some after a relatively decent amount of time and others very, very quickly.

Two of the last three Bachelorette stars prior to Andi are in long-term relationships, however, as the reality show is experiencing a recent renaissance.

Where will she and Josh rank when all is said and done?

Check out this list of the 10 Bachelorette stars ranked by relationship length and see what kind of competition the ABC show's latest love match is up against:

Andi Dorfman found love with Josh Murray on The Bachelorette. Will this romance last longer than her precedessors?!

Given their epic breakup on The Bachelor last winter, it might surprise you to learn that Andi Dorfman is open to inviting Juan Pablo Galavis to her wedding.

On the flip side, Andi would not have become The Bachelorette and met Josh Murray had she not competed for Juan Pablo's heart (and dumped his a--).

Also, she became, and remains, tight with eventual Bachelor winner Nikki Ferrell, which brings us to her one condition for inviting JPG to her wedding:

Quit messing around and propose to her, you idiot!

Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray have been making the media rounds ever since he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife on Monday night.

Unlike Juan's season, the aftermath is blissful.

They're moving in together and eyeing a spring wedding, the guest list for which currently includes her old flame Juan Pablo as a definite maybe.

Or "a soft no," as Andi put it.

"Unless he marries Nikki," Dorfman joked. "Then by default he'll come to the wedding ... if he marries Nikki, he gets an invite, so I hope he hears that."

"He better put a ring on it!"

The rumors surrounding Arie Luyendyk, Jr. being considered for ABC's The Bachelor in January are true, and The Bachelorette contender confirms.

Not only that, he's lobbying for the job!

Arie

The runner-up on Emily Maynard's 2012 season - she picked Jef Holm, somewhat amazingly, over Arie and Sean Lowe - wants to hand out the roses.

"No hiding it anymore!" the 32-year-old race car driver tweeted this week. "Would love to share my journey with all of you, but it's up to #bachelornation."

"Open, hopeful and more than ready," the Arizona-based Arie Luyendyk, Jr. concluded his Twitter declaration, complete with a red rose emoji ... very subtle!

The Bachelorette star Andi Dorfman's beloved farmer suitor, Chris Soules, was believed to be the easy choice for producers looking to cast the role.

Luyendyk's name also popped up recently, though.

Juan Pablo Galavis and Nikki Ferrell are very much still together, The Bachelor couple showed us with a bold statement on his Instagram page.

The picture came just hours before The Bachelorette finale and features Juan, Nikki and his daughter, Camila, putting on makeup at home for fun:

Perhaps not coincidentally, Juan Pablo took it upon himself to share this picture:

  • Concurrently with The Bachelorette finale and After the Final Rose
  • Amid the latest in a stream of breakup rumors surrounding Nikki

Just weeks after one of their many rumored splits, Juan Pablo Galavis and Nikki Ferrell are showing the world that they're together, and strong as ever.

While we still don't expect this "family" to last, we get the point.

THG loves The Bachelor.

There. We said it. We have no shame over this fact.

Some folks out there aren't always so open about their affection, however, rarely going above a whisper when discussing Chris Harrison, dates on a helicopter and THE MOST DRAMATIC ROSE CEREMONY EVER.

But don't count the following celebrities among that group.

These stars definitely watched Andi Dorfman choose Josh Murray on The Bachelorette last night and they'll totally happy to talk all about it.

Flip through these photos and you'll learn that they already have many times in the past:

John Mayer
Said the singer to Ellen DeGeneres in 2012: "I don't even feel like it's my fault for liking it. It's not a guilty pleasure. It's designed to be a pleasure.

Nikki Ferrell straight up raged against The Bachelorette finale last night after watching the After the Final Rose special, labeling the show #trash.

Plenty of people would probably agree with her use of that hashtag, but what makes this reaction story unique are the following, obvious points:

  1. Nikki appeared on, and won, The Bachelor this year
  2. She railed against the producers and not Nick Viall
  • Juan Pablo, Nikki
  • Nick Viall Photo

The cause of Ferrell's outrage was Bachelorette runner-up Nick Viall asking Andi Dorfman why she made love to him if she wasn't in love with him.

She went right after the production team, however, and not Nick himself, making you wonder if a single moment on the program is ever unscripted.

Ferrell seems fairly certain that Viall was put up to all of this.

"Gee I wonder who told Nick to say that..." Nikki posted on Twitter after the show. "How the producers of @BachelorABC sleep at night is beyond me. #trash."

If you were hoping to find out who is the next Bachelor at the end of The Bachelorette last night, you came away disappointed, as the torch was not passed.

In past seasons, The Bachelor or The Bachelorette season finale has also featured this big reveal on After the Final Rose. Not this time, for reasons unknown.

And the Winner is?

Chris Soules or Arie Luyendyk, Jr.: Who should be The Bachelor when the show returns in 2015? Cast your votes! View Poll »

Chris Soules, the sweet farmer from Iowa who finished third this season, attended the taping of After the Final Rose, leaving us to believe he's the guy.

He may well be, though it was announced a new Bachelor wouldn't be revealed Monday, Soules blushed and laughed nervously when the topic came up.

Fans (and fellow Bachelorette stars) also began chanting his name at one point, so it seems safe to assume he'd be a popular choice if he got the nod.

That's not a guarantee, though.

Insiders confirm that another former Bachelorette contestant, Emily Maynard's runner-up Arie Luyendyk, Jr. from the 2012 season, is in the running, too.

In a match made in heaven, or at least Bachelor in Paradise (which may be the closest thing on Earth), Lacy Faddoul and Marcus Grodd are engaged!

  • Marcus Grodd Photo

Marcus, who thought he'd found his soulmate in Andi Dorfman, found true love with a cast member on Juan Pablo Galavis' season of The Bachelor, Lacy Faddoul.

All thanks to the spinoff Bachelor in Paradise, which was filmed in June and features other castoffs from the franchise. It will premiere on ABC August 4.

As The Bachelorette spoilers predicted, Grodd was an early favorite this season, and the first to tell Andi he loved her - even before Nick, Josh or Chris.

During the hometown dates, Grodd said Andi Dorfman was "everything" to him. "Andi is my soul mate. I feel it with her," he gushed. "I'm ready to propose."

That chance never came, as he was soon given the boot.

Looks like Farmer Chris might have some competition for The Bachelor.

While Andi Dorfman's beloved Iowan castoff was believed to have the job wrapped up, sources say that come 2015, he may not be The Bachelor after all.

The reason? Another fan favorite - from 2012 - is still in the running:

Arie Luyendyk Jr. Picture

Arie Luyendyk Jr., the son of two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Arie Luyendyk and second-place finisher on Emily Maynard's Bachelorette season.

"Producers have already filmed him at home in Arizona, and even sent a personal trainer to get him in shape for TV," says an insider. "They think he’d be perfect.”

Emily Maynard surprisingly left Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Sean Lowe high and dry in favor of Jef Holm on the 2012 finale. Their engagement didn't last.
