Lady Gaga SLAMS PETA, Rejects Pressure From "Violent, Abusive, Childish" Group

Earlier this week, PETA slammed Lady Gaga, labeling the star a "turncoat" and demanding to know if some of the furs she's recently worn are real.

Rather than succumb to pressure, Mother Monster hit back!

In response to PETA and fan backlash, Gaga fired off a statement on her website basically saying she has a right to do (and wear) what she wants.

Lady Gaga, Fur Coat

Some have accused the manicure and handjob lover of being a hypocrite, not to mention petulant, in her response to PETA, but she's standing her ground.

In a well-formulated, refreshingly honest response, Gaga defends herself and calls out the organization for bullying (and flour-bombing Kim Kardashian).

"I want you to know that I care deeply about your feelings and views, and I will always support your philosophies about life," the 26-year-old writes.

"We've been having long and over-arching conversations about society, equality, and politics for the past five years, and we should continue."

However, "I do not however support violent, abusive, and childish campaigns for ANY CAUSE. Particularly one that I respect. 'Animal Rights.'"

"I am choosing not to comment on whether or not the furs I purchase are faux or real because I would think it hypercritical not to acknowledge the python, ostrich, cow hide, leather, lamb, alligator, 'kermit' and not to mention meat, that I have already worn."

"This should already put me in a category as one who appreciates and adores the beauty of animals in fashion, but am not a strict vegan."

"I have truly always stayed away from skinned fur, especially i have never been able to afford a nice one, but this does not mean my morals are rigid and that I won't bend at the sight of an absolute art piece of a coat."

"You see a carcass, I see a museum pièce de résistance. I am truly sorry to fans who are upset by this, its a fair and applaudable feeling about the health and safety of animals. I respect your views, please respect mine."

"And to campaigners, Save your flour to make bread for the children who are hungry. And Kim Kardashian is fabulous."

Wow, a celebrity who says what they think and doesn't fear the public relations backlash? Whatever you think of her views, it's hard not to respect that.

On the flip side, if she blatantly said, as PETA claims, that she hates fur and doesn't wear fur, how can she not expect to hear from them about this?

vegans and vegetarians are people who think outside the box. You don't have to be either to care about the welfare of animals and how they are treated. Gaga is a hypocrite-she stated several years ago that she would not wear fur because of how it is obtained. Now she does??? You can wear faux fur if you desire the dead animal look-makes you look stuffy-not fashionable. Old ladies wear fur. But anyways, only people who can look outside the box they inhabit can truly impact the world and make it better. Meat eaters can't do this, fur wearer's can't, etc., you get my point. She is only trying to get some attention as her last album tanked. I have thrown away her first album in the recycle box-no more gaga for me-makes me gag!

Good on Lady Gaga she has the right to do what she wants and live her life the way she wants to. If PETA and vegans don't like that tough!!! She like a lot of people now have seen PETA and vegans for the people that they really are. Wouldnt give a vegan the time of day. Meat eater and proud off it.

Karma's going to get this freak.

as I stated in the other thread regarding her fur wearing, if she has the need to wear fur, she should wear it on her very ugly face. Her little dog seems to be the right size. Let's do a anal electrocution of the little dog and while it's still alive skin it . (these r some of the ways fur is obtained). she can wear it on her face and wear it's flesh/meat somewhere else. What a ugly bitch.

Paws up! All four, lifeless, that is.

What I find most interesting about this situation is the orchestration of publicity by Lady Gaga. She has both sides going and in the meanwhile is sitting back enjoying every bit of publicity.

Everyone is entitled to make their own choices, what's wrong with the world is that everyone is worried about what everyone else is doing. You want freedom of speech and freedom to do what makes you happy until you come across someone you don't agree with, then they shouldn't have those rights. I think Lady Gaga is extremely creative, a true artist, and I don't even personally care for pop music. Kudos to Gaga for exercising her rights.

How the hell are you people bashing Gaga? I mean we all have our rights to wear, buy whatever we want. I myself can't afford a fur jacket, but I do have a cow hide rug in the living room. The fact of the matter, PETA and all its supporters are very childish, abusive and very violent when protesting. Throwing red paint, flower bombing and sending mass amount of photos of bloody animals, one of which was emailed to my 8 year old sister. I for one stand with Gaga, and applaud her for standing up for her rights.

Really Gaga.Didn't need any more reasons to despise you,yet here you are.Indulgent bitch. She should be skinned alive.

PETA is a twisted two-faced group that kills over 97% of the animals they take in. Don't believe me? Google PETA Kills Animals
Read the almost one hundred articles of just how rotten they really are! I stand with LADY GA GA. Screw PETA. The should be driven out of business along with the air head movie stars who will do ANYTHING for publicity.
