Shannon Beador of The Real Housewives of OC is speaking out about how her husband cheated on her, and what she decided to do as a result.
Like many things about the Beadors, this may surprise you.
On the Season 10 premiere of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Shannon revealed that her husband of 14 years, David, had had an affair.
However, they vowed not to “toss their marriage in the trash.”
“After I found out about the infidelity, we had some bumps back and forth and we finally ended up at a place called Couples Retreat,” she tells Us.
“They have a 90 percent success rate repairing marriages."
"We went through the process and it was eye-opening for the both of us and we received some tools that would help us repair our marriage.”
Shannon and David Beador say that what he did was completely “devastating,” the mom of three and her hubby are in a better place now.
“Every Saturday night after church we go out to dinner just the two of us and it’s nice,” David, who left home for two weeks after coming clean, says.
“It’s nice to have the alone time. Shannon calls it our ‘reconnection time’ ... It’s really helped our relationship because previously we never did that.”
Before filming began for Season 10, the couple struggled with returning to the franchise, debating whether to air their issues on national TV.
His affair took place in April 2014.
“It was a difficult decision coming back to the show," she said, but "we had to address the infidelity as part of what was going on in our lives."
“What’s important to both of us, as corny as it might sound, is we want to give other couples hope that even if there is infidelity," David adds.
"Or something devastating in a relationship, if you both work and make the effort and love each other, you can get out,” Shannon said.
“You can get through it."
There's also the fact that if you watch The Real Housewives of Orange County online, Shannon feels David is letting you keep an eye on him too:
"Agreeing to talk about everything on the show is the ultimate commitment ... he is not only accountable to me, but everyone who watches.”
