Now that he’s no longer legally enjoined from commenting, Jon Gosselin has made it clear that he and Kate can never be co-parents.

In a new interview, he reveals how his awful ex-wife bankrupted him and how fame and money twisted her into the monster she is today.

Doctor Oz may be widely regarded as a joke, but when Jon Gosselin sat down with him for an interview, what he had to say was very serious.

"I believe her intentions, in the beginning, were good intentions," Jon says of his nightmarish ex, Kate.

He recalls: "She fought to have these kids."

"I think once fame and money got involved," Jon speculates, "it twisted her belief system."

"On my end," Jon notes. "I’ve been fighting to get my kids off TV forever."

He shares: "I literally hung a sign on my gate saying, if any crew members show up, I’ll have you arrested for trespassing."

"They sued me for breach of contract," Jon says of TLC.

He admits that, during the course of his fight: "I pretty much bankrupted myself."

"But I did for moral reasons, obviously," Jon notes.

It’s not that he just got tired of filming. He realized that the show was destroying the soul of his family.

"I’ve spent 1.7 million in lawyer fees," he reveals. Wow.

Jon says that he accrued these fees "from when TLC sued me and my divorce."

"Kate on the other hand," Jon continues. "TLC paid for her attorneys in the lawsuit and for her divorce."

That’s a pretty sweet deal she secured for herself. And all that it cost was whatever was left of her dark soul.

"So I financed it by myself," he notes. "And she was financed by the network."

"I didn’t understand at first why," Jon now admits. "But now I understand why."

"All she wanted was legal custody," Jon says. "To film my kids to sustain her lifestyle and their lifestyle."

"See, it gets all warped," he expresses.

"That’s fame now, see?"Jon emphasizes. "It just twists things around."

Making extra money while becoming a reality star can be great. Exploiting your children to their detriment is not.

"Fame’s different only because fame, things are given to you, you’re held to a higher standard, you’re put on a pedestal," Jon explains.

It’s not the same as simply becoming rich.

He opines: "The attention, and it’s almost like a drug like an addiction."

"And once you have that and that lifestyle," Jon adds. "You can see certain tendencies in people are just it feeds and feeds and feeds."

Kate Gosselin has responded to Jon’s comments by speaking to People.

"I have consistently made it a rule never to respond to Jon’s delusional ramblings," Kate’s statement begins.

"And I will not break that rule now," she emphasizes.

"However, at some point soon," Kate threatens. "I look forward to making sure the absolute truth about our family is known."

We’re not sure what sort of horror show Kate has planned.

The woman accused of abusing both her children and her former dogs does not seem especially likely to tell the "absolute truth" about anything in her life.

But it’s only natural that, now that Jon is no longer prohibited from speaking on certain topics, Kate is feeling defensive.

We hope that he and Collin and Hannah are prepared for whatever smear campaign Kate has planned.
