What in the holy heck is going on at the moment with Teen Mom stars and their family pets?!?
As you may know by now, David Eason has admitted to shooting and killing his own dog after the canine allegedly attacked his two-year old daughter, Ensley.
Already fired himself by MTV, producers subsequently let wife Jenelle Evans go and now the couple’s kids have been taken away by the authorities.
This brings us to Mackenzie McKee.
The former Teen Mom 3 cast member is in very hot water right now because she left for vacation and seemingly abandoned her poor dog in the process.
Where did she leave him? And what did a neighbor do in response?
Scroll down to find out. (NOTE: We have updated this gallery at the end to reflect the latest on what has transpired.)
This Sounds Awful. What Happened?
McKee and her husband, Josh, are on vacation, as evidenced by the tropical photos (such as the one above) she’s been posting on social media.
They Left on May 15 and Will Return on May 21
“Our last night at the Bahamas calls for fancy dinner and a late night swim in the ocean,” wrote McKee as a caption to this image.
And What Did They Do with the Dog?
They left the canine in a pen in their backyard.
That’s It?
Yes. This photo was shared on Facebook, but thankfully a neighbor noticed the abusive situation and stepped in — much to McKee’s annoyance!
Whined Mackenzie on Facebook:
“Our neighbors called animal control saying they havenâÂÂt seen anyone in days, and they went and grabbed him out of our back yard and just called letting us know we owe them $80.”
She Dared to Add:
“Is this even allowed? IâÂÂm about tired of how they have done us. They have us on [Facebook] and can easily message us.”
We’ll Grant Her This One Point
The neighbors maybe should have tried to contact her in some way before taking any action. But their sentiment here was very clearly in the right place.
Getting More Defensive:
âÂÂSo we left our dog in an outdoor pen. Not a kennel, a pen,â McKee also wrote. âÂÂWeâÂÂve had someone feeding and watching him daily.”
What About Walks? What About Cleaning Out the Pen?
No comment apparently.
A Response from the Neighbor
“We have listened to this poor dog cry for five days in this tiny little pen,â he wrote on Facebook. âÂÂThere is no dog house, there is only muddy ground. His food was soaked. We didnâÂÂt know if anyone would be back.âÂÂ
A Very Valid Point, Right?
âÂÂOur concern was for the dog,â the neighbor continued, before extending an offer to Mackenzie: âÂÂHe is an awesome dog and if you want help finding him a home I have a friend that can help. There are Great Dane rescues that would love to have him.âÂÂ
Another Look at the Pen:
Disgusting. This is where McKee left her pet for FIVE DAYS.
It Gets Weirder, Too…
This isnâÂÂt the first time Mackenzie has sparked controversy in regard to animals. In January of 2017, she made headlines after Snapchatting a series of videos of her son Gannon playing with (and kissing) a dead puppy. Yes, for real.
Here’s a Photo from that Snapchat
What the heck, right?
Then There Was This:
Earlier this year, Mackenzie posted an apology for an incident at a pet store involving her sons and a ferret. âÂÂPet Land: if that poor ferret died because Broncs and Gannon weâÂÂre pulling at it from each end fighting over it. Sorry, however, they really are not worth $200 though,” she wrote, impyling that her kids messed with the animal and she was then charged for them doing so.
She Received Death Threats for This Comment
Mackenzie later spoke with Radar Online about the remark and explained: âÂÂIt was like not even one second, my son tried to grab it, I ran across and took it away and gently put it back into the basket. And now IâÂÂm getting told to kill myself, IâÂÂm getting told I shouldnâÂÂt be a mom.âÂÂ
McKee Does Seem to Love Her Pets
Her previous Great Dane, Scooby Doo, passed away in March of last year and explained in an emotional Facebook post what happened with that one.
This is What She Wrote at the Time:

And This is How She Concluded:

McKee Had Been Vocal Online About What Eason Did

Justice for Nugget!

She Didn’t Kill Her Dog in Cold Blood Like Eason Did
But still Mackenzie, holy crap: Take a look in the mirror, will ya?
UPDATE
Animal control has seized the dog… and Mackenzie is pissed. She tells TMZ that family members were tending to the dog everyday.
She Also Says the Neighbors Have Been Holding a Grudge
Angie Douthit actually says this. The reality star’s mom explains to TMZ that there’s been tension between her daughter and these neighbors ever since Hank got loose in the latter’s yard.
There’s More to This Story, Douthit Swears
Douthit adds that this past aggression is exactly why McKee locked Hank in the pen in the backyard — and that she and her dad came over everyday to check on the animal.
Mackenzie McKee and Angie Douthit
Douthit even says her dad was the one to put a tarp on top of the pen to keep poor Hank dry — and that the neighbors took it upon themselves to place a wood pallet in there so Hank would have a dry place to sit.
Wasn’t This a Nice Gesture, Though?
No. Douthit says the wood pallet may have had splinters that could have harmed Hank.
What About All That Poop in That Photo of Hank and the Pen?

Douthit says the neighbors spread this picture and that it was misleading … because Great Dane’s just poop a lot. Moreover, the mud made said poop look especially bad. Yes, we’re now talking about dog poop as a key part of this story.
Where is Hank Now?
With animal control. But McKee says they only took him because tornadoes were in the forecast, and Angie says she would have taken Hank in if a tornado actually hit.
Money Owed. Rant to Come.
McKee is now on the hook for $80, due to animal control for boarding the dog. Her return flight from the Bahamas was delayed, but she’s planning to pick up Hank on Wednesday. Stay tuned to see what she says about the situation afterward.
