As you’ve probably heard by now, Jenelle Evans and David Eason are getting divorced.
The couple began hinting at marital strife last weekend, and on Thursday, Jenelle dropped the hammer:
She revealed that she and her children are no longer living with David, and that she has begun the divorce process by filing the necessary papers.
The big question now is — what will become of Ensley?
Yes, there were several children living on The Land, but only one was the offspring of both Jenelle and David.
The couple just regained custody of the 2-year-old earlier this year, and both have been arrest records a mile long, which means they may be in for a very complicated — and very ugly — custody battle.

But for Jenelle, the worst part is that her decision to help David hide his crime cost her her cushy six-figure gig on Teen Mom 2, the only job she’s ever had in her adult life.

Faced with economic ruin, Jenelle did what any crash-strapped unemployable mom would do — she stashed her kids somewhere and, under cover of night, escaped to New York, where she begged MTV execs to rehire her.

Believe it or not, it may work. Jenelle wants to start filming right away, and TMZ reports that MTV is considering her idea of shooting a series of David-less holiday specials.
And What Will We See?
At the moment, Evans is reportedly living in Tennessee with two of her three children. (Her eldest, 10-year-old Jace, remains in North Carolina with his grandmother, who has raised him since birth.)

That leaves David and his daughter Maryssa back on The Land. So say a prayer for Maryssa, if you believe in that sort of thing.
What the Future Holds
Assuming Jenelle and David aren’t just faking their split so that she can get her old job back (big if) this divorce will likely get ugly in the very near future.
Worth Mentioning
(We feel compelled to point out that while Jenelle claims to have filed for divorce from David, a new report from Radar Online reveals that no such papers have been filed in the couple’s home county of Columbus, North Carolina. So yeah, there’s a very good chance this is all BS.)
Land War
The battle for the Easons’ beloved Land could be a complicated one. The property is paid off, and obviously that was mostly Jenelle’s money. (David hasn’t worked since 2017.) But currently, he’s living there, and she isn’t.
The Ensley Factor
And then, of course, there’s the matter of what will become of the couple’s 2-year-old daughter, Ensley.
Caught In the Middle
David is obviously unfit to raise children, but he’s also petty and vindictive, which is how he wound up with custody of his eldest daughter, Maryssa.
Memories
Given the fact that this mess all began with David traumatizing his kids but murdering a dog, you might think the custody battle would be an open-and-shut case in Jenelle’s favor. But Jenelle has been arrested many, many times.
She’s No Angel
We’re talking like, she’s had double-digit mug shots for years, and it doesn’t look like she plans to put her unlawful ways behind her anytime soon.
A Regular at the County Lock-Up
These are no minor offenses, either. Evans has been locked for everything from assault (several times) to possession of heroin.
It Never Ends
Add to that the fact that Ensley was born with pot in her system due to Jenelle smoking while she was pregnant, and it’s not hard to see why a judge might have a hard time placing the girl with Evans.
Big Nope
Of course, it’s equally hard to imagine a judge placing the poor kid with David.
Awful Situation
Basically, one of these two better get their sh-t together real soon. Because if there’s an ugly custody battle, the most likely outcome is that they’ll both lose.
